Overview

Voloco is a mobile vocal recording and processing app, with a separate plugin for desktop DAWs. It suits singers and creators building vocal-led tracks on a phone, and producers who want Voloco’s processing in an existing DAW workflow. Its breadth is appealing, but the free mobile tier’s five-effect cap is restrictive if you want to explore the full range.

Key features

The mobile app offers more than 70 vocal effects, including pitch correction, harmonies, vocoders, and creative treatments. Real-time correction, formant control, and scale or key detection give singers several ways to shape a vocal, though the free plan exposes only five effects. Voloco makes more sense for regular experimentation if you are willing to pay for a broader set of tools.

Voloco Studio records up to eight vocal layers, with separate volume, pan, and effect controls for each. That gives singers room to stack harmonies and vary their treatment without giving up independent control of each take. BeatStars integration lets users browse, preview, and license beats inside the app, a useful route from choosing a backing track to recording over it.

AI vocal separation splits an imported song into vocal and backing-track stems on the phone. This can help when you want to work with the parts separately, while MP3 exports suit sharing and WAV exports suit further professional mixing.

Voloco Producer brings vocal processing into a DAW as a plugin, with a resynthesizer, editable harmony grid, and sequencer. That makes the desktop product relevant to producers already working in a DAW; it is a different fit from the phone app’s recording and beat-browsing workflow.

Pricing

The Free mobile app costs 0.00 USD per free and is available for iPhone and Android. Its five-effect limit makes it a reasonable starting point for basic vocal work, but a narrow option for users who want access to the mobile app’s broader effects range.

Producer Monthly costs 14.99 USD per month, billed 1 month, and includes a 14 day free trial, VST3/AAX/AU/Standalone download, and over 50 free vocal presets. It fits producers who want the plugin without committing to a year. Producer Yearly costs 99.99 USD per year, billed 1 year, with a 14 day free trial and the same plugin formats and preset offer. The listed monthly equivalent is $8.33 / mo, compared with $14.99 / mo for the monthly plan, making yearly billing the lower-cost option for someone prepared to commit for a year.

Both Producer plans are desktop offerings, not replacements for the free mobile plan. The trial gives a way to evaluate the paid plugin before choosing a term; the yearly plan’s lower monthly equivalent comes with a longer billing commitment.

Platforms

The mobile app runs on iPhone and Android. Voloco Producer supports macOS 11 on 64-bit Intel or Apple Silicon, and Windows 10 on 64-bit Intel or AMD. Its system requirements matter if you are choosing the desktop plugin: an older macOS release or unsupported processor will not meet the stated requirements.

Who it's for

Voloco is best suited to singers who want vocal effects, layered recording, beat licensing, and export options in a mobile workflow, especially if they can work within the free tier’s five-effect limit or justify a paid plan. The Producer plugin is a better fit for DAW users who want its vocal processing tools inside a desktop session. It is less compelling for someone seeking only an unrestricted free mobile effects library.

Verdict

Choose Voloco if you want mobile vocal recording with layered takes, beat licensing, stem separation, and a path to DAW-based processing. Its mix of phone tools and a desktop plugin is the main reason to choose it; look elsewhere if a five-effect free mobile tier is too limited or your desktop system does not meet the Producer requirements.
