Songscription

Songscription is a web-based music transcription platform that converts audio recordings and video links into sheet music, MIDI, guitar tabs, and an interactive piano roll. It accepts MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, MP4, MOV, or WebM files, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok links, browser recordings, and MIDI or MusicXML imports. It transcribes piano, guitar, bass, double bass, violin, flute, trumpet, saxophone, drums, and vocals, one instrument at a time. Transcriptions can be edited note by note, including pitches, timing, note deletion, and hand assignment. Piano cover mode arranges a song for piano, while chord detection attempts to identify chords in a performance. Exports include PDF, MIDI, MusicXML, and Guitar Pro. The free plan allows unlimited 30-second transcriptions. Plus costs $99.90 a year and Pro costs $299.90 a year, each billed annually before tax; both allow transcriptions up to 15 minutes. Songscription works in mobile browsers as well as desktop browsers.

Violin2Notes

Violin2Notes uses AI to turn recordings of violin, viola, cello, and double bass into editable scores and music files. It can work with string parts even when other instruments are present. Users can upload audio, paste a YouTube link, or record in the app; supported upload formats include MP3, WAV, MP4, MIDI, and FLAC. An editor lets users adjust notes, timing, and layout before exporting PDF sheet music, quantized or unquantized MIDI, or MusicXML. Piano Roll mode provides a visual way to view and play along with a transcription. Free demos can be repeated, but each covers only the first 20 seconds of audio, a video, or an in-app recording and provides a PDF preview. Pro includes 50 full transcriptions per month, each up to 15 minutes. It costs $14.99 a month, or $6.24 a year with annual billing, shown as an equivalent monthly cost. The service is available on web, iOS, and Android, and the maker says transcriptions sync across those platforms. The maker says clear recordings focused on strings produce the best results; corrections can be made in the editor.
