SoundBits vs ZapSplat

SoundBits is a web service offering sound-effects libraries and bundles for multimedia projects. Its free Sound Effects Collection contains 285 files in a 2.1 GB download and includes metadata. These sounds may be used in linear commercial or non-commercial projects. The Starter Pack costs 10.00 EUR once, provides a selection from an original library, and includes a 10€ coupon toward that library. Paid library sounds carry a lifetime, worldwide, royalty-free synchronization license that is non-transferable and non-exclusive. The license covers musical, video game, and multimedia projects without a limit on usage frequency. Files arrive as BWF-tagged WAV, mostly 24-bit/96 kHz. Just Whoosh includes metadata and follows the Universal Category System. One purchaser may use sounds on two same-owner workstations; additional users need licenses. Downloads follow PayPal payment, and downloaded sales are final except at SoundBits’ discretion.

ZapSplat is a web library of sound effects and royalty-free music for creative projects. Its catalog lists over 160,000 sound effects, more than 750 SFX packs and over 1,000 music tracks. A free account is required to download audio. The Basic plan is free, with limited MP3 downloads and attribution required. Downloaded material can be used in personal, commercial and broadcast projects worldwide in perpetuity, with attribution where reasonably possible. Premium adds unlimited downloads, premium content, MP3 and WAV files, attribution-free use and ad-free access. Premium monthly costs £4.99 a month; Premium yearly costs £39.99 a year. Teams monthly is £2.99 a month per seat, while Teams yearly is £22.50 a year per seat. Colleagues access the library through their own accounts, and administrators can manage and add seats. The standard license prohibits using its audio to train AI or machine-learning models. ZapSplat says its library is made from team recordings or material shared under contributor agreements.
