In their own words
StatusEntry
StatusEntry is a hosted status page and incident communication tool for businesses. It lets teams share service status with public audiences and employees through a hosted page and communication channels including email, webhooks, Slack, and Twitter. Teams can schedule maintenance, notify subscribers and employees, and create a maintenance-impact incident for monitoring. The service shows uptime history and offers an embeddable status badge that displays the latest status on hover and links to the public page. Its API supports listing, retrieving, creating, updating, and deleting incidents; documented states run from investigating to resolved, with impact values from none to critical. Every listed pricing tier includes a subdomain with SSL. The Free plan costs nothing and includes one user, two services, and unlimited status updates. Startup is $9.99 a month, Business is $19.99 a month, and Enterprise is $39.99 a month. A 30-day trial provides enterprise features, requires no credit card, and can be followed by the free package without a time limit.
UpCanary
UpCanary monitors service availability and links detected outages to status pages that update from monitoring data. It checks HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, DNS, SSL certificates, and Ping from locations across six continents. The site states detection is under three seconds and describes multi-region consensus checking to reduce false positives. The free Basic plan includes five service monitors, one public or private status page, 14-day data retention, and a 30-second minimum check interval. Starter costs $9 a month; Pro costs $29 a month. Both plans list protected status pages, with higher limits for pages, monitors, subscribers, and retention. Email alerts are available; several other alert integrations are marked coming soon. Credit bundles are one-time purchases, and unused credits do not expire. UpCanary is a web service from a maker headquartered in Switzerland. Its privacy policy describes encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. The listed privacy practices exclude tracking and advertising cookies.
