UFile
UFile prepares Canadian personal tax returns covering employment, retirement, rental, investment, and self-employment income. Its online version runs in a browser, can use CRA Auto-fill to download information from most tax slips, and supports electronic filing with the CRA and Revenu Québec through NETFILE. UFile also supports capital gains or losses, and state filing is included. It says the software explores tax-saving opportunities and provides a Triple Guarantee covering accuracy, satisfaction, and best tax result.
Some taxpayers may qualify for a free return, including students, people with simple returns, first-time filers, and families with total income under $20,000. UFile ONLINE stores tax data on its servers and keeps a return copy available for several years; UFile for Windows stores data locally. Both versions are available in English and French and handle Quebec returns. ONLINE includes free email and telephone support; PREMIUM adds priority email, telephone, and chat support.
