Sublime Text vs Wix Studio

Sublime Text is a text editor for code, markup, and prose on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Editing includes multi-cursor and column work, macro recording, large-file handling, tab multi-select, split views, Goto Anything, Goto Definition, and context-aware auto-completion. GPU rendering is supported on all three platforms, including resolutions up to 8K. The maker lists native Apple Silicon support and Linux ARM64 builds. Extensions can add plugins, syntax definitions, menus, and snippets, and a documented Python API supports plugin development such as LSP. The download page identifies Sublime Text 4, Build 4215, as the current release. The software can be downloaded and evaluated without an enforced time limit, but continued use requires a license. A Personal license costs $99 as a one-time purchase and includes three years of updates. Business licensing costs $65 per seat per year for the first 10 seats, with lower rates for larger tiers. The maker is based in Woollahra, Sydney, Australia.

Wix Studio is a website creation platform for designers, developers, and marketers working with clients. Responsive design tools include custom breakpoints, responsive AI, and a Figma plugin for importing designs. Developers get a full-stack platform, a VS Code-based IDE, and hundreds of APIs, alongside AI tools for code and images. Built-in business solutions cover eCommerce, events, bookings, and blogging. Teams can edit sites at the same time, collaborate on canvas, and assign roles and permissions. SEO features include server-side rendering, structured data markup, submitted sitemaps, and customizable robots.txt files. Wix describes multi-cloud hosting with automatic scalability, disaster recovery, and a globally distributed CDN. Creating a site is free, with a branded subdomain; paid plans add options such as a custom domain and removal of Studio branding. Basic costs $19 a month billed annually and includes 10 GB of media storage and 1,500 CMS items, but sites on that plan cannot accept payments. The Standard plan is $27 a month billed annually and adds payment acceptance. Wix lists a mobile app for the App Store and Google Play.
