Telnyx SIP Trunking
Telnyx SIP Trunking connects business phone systems to phone networks over the internet, rather than a traditional phone line. Telnyx says its service runs on a private global network it owns. The product is available in 230+ countries and Telnyx reports processing 500M+ SIP calls monthly. Features include HD voice using wideband codecs such as AMR-WB, branded calling, STIR/SHAKEN A-level attestation, CNAM, spam protection and Voice Integrity reputation monitoring. To place or receive calls, customers create a SIP connection, link it to an outbound voice profile, assign a Telnyx number and use a softphone. Listed PBX compatibility includes 3CX, FreePBX and Asterisk; integrations include Microsoft Teams, Zoom Phone, Talkdesk, UJET and Genesys. The free plan has a $0 platform fee, with usage billed per minute. US local outbound rates start at $0.005 per minute and inbound at $0.0032 per minute; rates vary by destination and volume. Committed starts at $500 a month, and Enterprise at $5,000 a month.
Wazo Platform
Wazo Platform is a free, open-source stack of telecom microservices for building programmable voice, video, messaging, and presence services. Its capabilities include audio and video calls, chat, call centers, conferences, voicemail, custom call routing, and an auto attendant. Interfaces include WebRTC, REST APIs, WebSockets, and Webhooks, described as mobile- and web-friendly. The microservices are developed in Python, and APIs are described through OpenAPI specifications. Asterisk, RTPEngine, and Kamailio make up the telecom engine; RabbitMQ, NGINX, and PostgreSQL support the technical core. Wazo can be deployed on bare metal, virtual machines, or containers. The documented all-in-one installation uses Debian 12 Bookworm and Ansible; minimums for a small production installation of about 50 users are 2 CPUs, 4 GiB RAM, and 50 GiB storage. The GPL-3 license allows free use, including commercial use. APIs can integrate billing and services such as speech-to-text, AI, or sentiment analysis. Community support is available through Mattermost, a forum, and JIRA.
