In their own words
Texifier
Texifier is a desktop editor and productivity tool for academic and professional writing centered on LaTeX. Its TexpadTeX typesetter renders PDF output from LaTeX source while you type. The editor offers LaTeX and BibTeX syntax highlighting, autocomplete, spell-checking, block-comment tools, and indentation controls. A PDF viewer links the source, document outline, and PDF navigation. Texifier loads multi-file projects containing sub-files, bibliographies, and stylesheets, with global search and TODO navigation. Markdown documents can also produce PDFs with an outline. On iOS, the app supports offline typesetting, PDF viewing, Files app access, and sharing projects, source, and PDFs; documentation describes iCloud and Dropbox access. Cloud servers can typeset documents needing unsupported packages. macOS, iOS, and Windows are listed, with offline editing. Computer launches start a two-week trial, while the iOS app has no trial. Licenses are one-time purchases from $39.99 for one seat down to $29.99 per seat for 101–1000 seats.
VerbTeX
VerbTeX is a collaborative LaTeX editor with local and cloud project modes. It creates PDFs with PdfLaTeX, XeLaTeX, or LuaLaTeX and supports BibTeX and Biber bibliographies. Local Mode keeps.tex documents on the device, allows offline compilation, and does not require an account. Cloud Mode syncs projects with Verbosus and includes a web interface. The app integrates with Dropbox, Box, Git, iCloud, Zotero, and Mendeley, and includes an AI assistant using ChatGPT and Claude. The free plan allows 2 local projects and 2 cloud projects, with up to 2 documents per project and 2 uploads per project. VerbTeX Pro adds code completion and unlimited projects and documents; the listed options cost $3.99 a month or $8.99 USD once. The app has no ads. The developer reports that the app collects no data. Cloud Mode supports two-factor authentication in combination with Copiosus, and Pro encrypts content transmission using TLS. Platforms include Android, iOS, Mac, web, and Windows.
