Overview

Zoho Connect is an organization-focused service for workplace communication, team coordination, and shared company knowledge. It is best suited to organizations that want those functions together, rather than teams looking only for chat or project tracking.

Its breadth is a strength, but check the free-plan user limit carefully: Zoho’s plan comparison and help page give different caps.

Key features

Communication and collaboration

Feeds, direct messages, group chat, channels, announcements, polls, questions, and forums cover both broadcast updates and discussion. Groups add dedicated spaces for conversations and file sharing, with task management alongside them. That combination can serve a workplace with varied communication needs; it may be unnecessary for a team that only needs a simple messaging channel.

Projects and company knowledge

Tasks and boards help teams assign responsibilities and track project progress. Manuals and articles provide a place to organize company guidance, including policies on leave, hiring, training, and ethics. This makes Connect useful as a shared organizational hub, although its project tools are described as part of a broader service rather than a specialist project-management product.

AI, integrations, and controls

Zia includes writing assistance, sentiment analysis, post summaries, and town hall highlights. Integrations include Zoho apps, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Jira, and Zapier; Zoho Flow connects Connect with more than 200 business apps. These options help teams fit Connect into a wider work setup, especially one already using Zoho.

Zoho describes encryption, invitation-based membership, granular user data controls, password-protected exports, and GDPR compliance. It says Connect does not handle protected health information for its own purposes, which it says supports an organization’s HIPAA compliance; that is not a claim that Connect itself handles PHI.

Pricing

Connect is freemium, with a free plan and paid plans. The stated starting price is $0.40/user/mo (annual), but prices for the named paid plans are not given.

Free: Free, with conflicting limits: the plan comparison says up to 5 users, while Zoho’s help page says the post-trial free plan allows up to 25. The help page also caps active groups, boards, manuals, and custom apps at three each. This can suit a small team exploring the service, but the cap discrepancy makes it important to confirm the applicable limit before relying on the free tier.
Starter: Custom pricing. For 25 users, it includes 25 GB of file storage and 10 Zoho app integrations. Its defined team size and storage make it the clearest fit for a small organization that needs more than the free tier.
Enterprise: Custom pricing, billed monthly or yearly, with yearly billing saving up to 20%. It starts at 10 users and includes 2 GB of file storage per member.
Ultimate: Custom pricing, billed monthly or yearly, with yearly billing saving up to 20%. It starts at 10 users and includes 2 GB of file storage per member.

A free trial is available. Classic support is free; Premium Support is available for Enterprise and Ultimate for 20% of the license fee, with a stated three-hour response time and weekday 24-hour email and live chat coverage.

Platforms

Connect runs on the web, Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux, and offers an API. Native mobile apps and desktop downloads give teams options beyond browser access.

Who it's for

Connect is a strong fit for organizations that want employee communication, project coordination, and internal reference material in the same service, particularly those already using Zoho apps. Its mix of organization-wide and group-level tools also suits workplaces that need both announcements and ongoing team discussions. It is less compelling for teams seeking a dedicated project-management tool or only a lightweight chat service.

Pros and cons

Pros: A broad mix of communication, task, and knowledge tools can reduce the need to split those workflows across separate services.
Pros: Zoho Flow and integrations with common work apps give teams multiple ways to connect Connect to their existing setup.
Pros: Native Android and iOS apps, desktop downloads, and web access support varied work environments.
Cons: The free-plan user caps conflict, complicating a decision for teams close to either limit.
Cons: Paid plan prices are custom, so teams must obtain a quote to compare their actual cost.

Verdict

Choose Zoho Connect if your organization wants one service for workplace communication, task coordination, and company knowledge, especially if Zoho apps are already part of your setup. Its breadth is the main reason to choose it; the conflicting free caps and custom-priced paid plans are reasons to look elsewhere or confirm costs and limits before committing.
