Thumblore vs Thumbmagic

Thumblore is a web app that generates YouTube and Shorts thumbnails from a video title or topic. Each generation returns two options, with text, faces, and color arranged automatically. Users can request headline, color, or layout changes through plain-English chat editing. It supports 16:9 and 9:16 outputs, including Story, Short, and Reel formats. Users can create or upload reusable faces as avatars, and several saved avatars can appear in a thumbnail. New accounts receive 100 credits once at signup without a payment card; generation and editing consume credits, and the app shows the cost before an action is confirmed. The free plan includes one saved avatar and exports with a Thumblore badge. Starter is listed at $9 a month and includes 700 credits monthly, up to 10 saved avatars, and exports without a watermark. The pricing note lists paid from $10/mo. Thumblore says users own generated outputs, subject to applicable law and model-provider rights, and may use them commercially.

Thumbmagic is a web-based AI thumbnail maker for YouTubers, content creators, agencies, and brands. You can supply a public YouTube link, upload MP4, MOV, AVI, or WEBM video up to 5GB, or enter at least 100 characters of script. Each generation costs one credit and returns two thumbnail variants; edits and expression changes also consume one credit. The editor lets you describe a change to a selected element. Text generation provides 3–5 headline suggestions and six listed fonts, while expression options are Happy, Surprised, Shocked, Angry, Excited, and Curious. Custom font uploads are unavailable. Outputs include standard 1280x720 YouTube thumbnails and 9:16 templates for short-form platforms. Free access provides three thumbnails without a card. Annual paid plans start at $17 a month; Starter includes 100 thumbnails monthly.
