In their own words
VNyan
VNyan is a free Windows application for creating 3D VTuber animations, stages, tracking setups, and stream interactions. Its Node Graph interface lets users build actions ranging from chat responses to more complex events. It supports VRM, VRM 1.0, and VSFAvatar models, with 2D and 3D avatar workflows and VRM import. Tracking includes SteamVR full body, webcam ARKit face tracking, iPhone trackers, LeapMotion hands, and incoming VMC protocol. Integrations include Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Chaturbate, Fansly, Joystick.tv, and Pulsoid. VNyan supports Spout2 and NDI capture and accepts WebSocket commands from tools such as Stream Deck and Streamer.bot. Effects include audio lip sync, frequency and volume detection, AudioLink shaders, liquid and pendulum physics, and post processing. VNyanNet enables collaboration, while the SDK supports custom plugins, items, props, and worlds. Optional NSFW integrations, including Lovense support, can be hidden. The listed download is VNyan 1.7.2e, with the SDK also available.
XR Animator
XR Animator is a free tool for driving MMD or VRM 3D avatars from pose input. It uses MediaPipe and TensorFlow.js to detect poses from webcam video, and supports face, full-body, and combined face, body, and hand tracking. Full-body tracking can use a webcam or an image or video file. Face tracking supports 52 ARKit-compatible blendshapes. Users can record motion capture, export VMD, BVH, and glTF motion, and load VMD, FBX, and BVH motion files; FBX or BVH motion can also be exported to VMD. The scene can include 2D images or video, 3D panoramas, and .x or .glb objects. The web app works in major desktop and smartphone browsers, while Electron apps are available for Windows, Linux, and macOS. Android Chrome supports augmented reality. VMC protocol support and a frameless transparent background for capture apps are limited to Electron mode. The project notes that smartphones with limited processing power may be better suited to face tracking alone.
