In their own words
Yubico Authenticator
Yubico Authenticator generates two-step verification codes for online accounts on mobile and desktop devices. It supports TOTP and HOTP, and users can add credentials by scanning a service’s QR code. Credentials are stored in a YubiKey secure element; Yubico says they cannot be extracted. Since the credentials remain on the portable YubiKey, the same codes are available through the mobile and desktop apps. The mobile app supports tap-and-go authentication on NFC-enabled devices, and credentials can be added with a YubiKey touch or NFC tap. Yubico says users can unlock a YubiKey with Face ID or Touch ID. The app can display OATH codes and manage a YubiKey’s FIDO PIN or perform a factory reset. It is free and open-source software, listed at free, for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS/iPadOS, and Android. Generating and displaying OATH credentials with the desktop app requires a YubiKey.
Zoho OneAuth
Zoho OneAuth is a free authenticator for Zoho work accounts and personal online accounts. It supports time-based one-time passwords, push approvals, and QR-code login; Zoho accounts can also use passwordless sign-in. For organizations, Zoho Directory lets IT administrators configure multifactor authentication across employees’ Zoho accounts. OneAuth also supports third-party accounts such as Google, Adobe, Github, Zoom, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
A passphrase can help restore access after a device is lost or reset, or the app is removed, and can synchronize OTP codes across devices. Encrypted backup and multi-device sync are supported. Biometrics can unlock the app, while remote logout removes unwanted sessions. A sign-in restriction can block future logins to a Zoho account until disabled. The app is available for Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS, and supports phones, tablets, laptops, smart watches, and desktops. Its listed free plan includes time-based OTP authentication, backup and recovery, multi-device support, and passwordless Zoho sign-in.
