Overview

Bookkeeping, tax reports, invoicing, payments, mileage tracking and CRM sit alongside project accounting. For contractors, the distinction is that projects can track job costs, change orders, retainage, cost codes and project-level profit and loss—not just invoices. Support for fixed-price, time-and-materials, cost-plus and unit-price contracts makes the project tools relevant across several common billing arrangements.

That breadth favors businesses wanting financial and project workflows together. Readers seeking only mileage tracking can choose the less costly Drive plan; the construction-focused features begin with Pro.

Key features

Job accounting and progress billing

Job costing, cost codes and project-level profit and loss help connect project spending to project results. Change-order and retainage tracking address contract details that a general bookkeeping workflow may not capture. Pro and Elite also include AIA-style applications and certificates for payment, with a continuation sheet and project Schedule of Values. These make those plans the relevant options for contractors handling progress billing; Plus does not include projects.

Field records, AI and integrations

Project locations can suggest the current job for receipts, associate mileage with a project and link GPS-stamped progress photos to a project. This is useful for keeping field activity connected to job records, though the workflow centers on project attribution rather than a broad field-management suite.

Vuuv AI can answer natural-language questions about project books and extract project, cost code, payee and category from receipt images for review. Pro includes Vuuv AI and bank sync. Plaid, eBay, Stripe, SignWell, Amazon Seller Central, Apple App Store and Google Play Store are live integrations; Etsy, Square, Patreon, Upwork and YouTube are coming soon. Vuuv says integrations use OAuth 2.0, bank connections run through Plaid, and connections are read-only where applicable.

The privacy policy says Firebase stores data encrypted in transit and at rest, and identifies SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3 and ISO 27001 compliance or certification for that infrastructure. Support is available by email, in-app request or contact form, with typical replies within 24 hours on business days.

Pricing

Vuuv has free and paid plans, plus a 30-day trial. The construction plans’ seat and e-signature limits are important: Pro supports one team member and 10 e-signatures per month, while Elite supports 10 team members and 25 per month.

Plan	Price and terms	What it includes
Plus	0.00 USD per free	Free for good; unlimited transactions, invoices and estimates; up to 3 rental units; 5 lifetime AI receipt scans, then photo.
Drive Free	0.00 USD per free	No charge; 40 GPS trips a month and one vehicle.
Drive	6.00 USD per month	Mileage tracking only; unlimited GPS trips and vehicles, manual mileage entry and IRS-compliant mileage reports.
Pro	12.00 USD per month	$0 for 30 days, then $1 a month for 3 months, and $12 a month after that; unlimited businesses and properties and transactions, projects, 10 e-signatures a month, 1 team member, Vuuv AI and bank sync.
Elite	18.00 USD per month	Everything in Pro, 25 e-signatures a month and 10 team members.

Plus is the fit for users who need invoices, estimates and transactions without project accounting; its five AI receipt scans are a lifetime allowance, after which receipts must be handled by photo. Drive Free is narrowly useful for occasional mileage, capped at 40 GPS trips monthly and one vehicle. Drive removes those caps and adds manual entry and IRS-compliant reports, but includes mileage tracking only.

Pro is the entry point for job-costed projects and progress billing, and its introductory billing lowers the initial cost before reaching $12.00 USD per month. Its one-member limit makes it a solo-operator option rather than a small-team plan. Elite raises capacity to 10 team members and 25 monthly e-signatures for $18.00 USD per month, a more practical choice when both limits would constrain work. Neither construction plan offers unlimited seats or signatures.

Platforms

Vuuv runs on Android, iOS and the web, allowing access across mobile and browser workflows.

Who it's for

Vuuv is aimed at general contractors, remodelers, specialty trades and custom home builders. It is a particularly good fit for a solo contractor who wants project accounting, progress billing, bookkeeping and field-linked records in one place. Small teams can use Elite, but firms needing more than 10 team members or 25 monthly e-signatures will encounter its stated plan limits.

Pros and cons

Pros: Project accounting covers job costing, cost codes, retainage, change orders and project-level profit and loss, alongside four contract types.
Pros: Pro and Elite include AIA-style progress billing with a continuation sheet and Schedule of Values.
Pros: Field-linked receipts, mileage and GPS-stamped photos connect records to projects, while Pro adds AI receipt extraction and bank sync.
Cons: Plus does not include projects, so contractors who need job accounting must move to Pro or Elite.
Cons: Pro is limited to one team member and 10 monthly e-signatures; Elite's 10 members and 25 signatures may still constrain larger or heavier-signing teams.
Cons: Drive and Drive Free are mileage plans, not substitutes for the project-accounting features in Pro and Elite.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Construction Accounting Software. Consider BuildSuite if open-source software matters: BuildSuite Core is MIT-licensed and can be run, changed and built on without obligation to its maker; it also has a free plan and free trial.

Trimble Viewpoint Vista is a paid option with cloud-hosted and on-premises deployments, with pricing by contacting sales. Deltek Maconomy is an enterprise ERP for professional services firms, with pricing by demo request. JOBPOWER is a paid contractor software option whose maker says it has worked with contractors since 1985.

Infor Construction is a paid alternative from an ERP company founded in 2002 that focuses primarily on manufacturing. maestro*ERP lets businesses choose modules and functionality for their requirements, with price not listed. myJobManager has all features included and a free trial; it costs 30.00 GBP per month for 1–5 users and 25.00 GBP per month per user for 6 or more, with VAT excluded. Acumatica Construction Edition uses custom pricing based on applications, expected usage and resource needs, and deployment, with unlimited users.

Verdict

Choose Vuuv if you are a solo contractor or small construction business that wants job costing, project-level financials and progress billing alongside bookkeeping and field records. Its project-specific accounting is the main reason to choose it over a mileage-only plan, and the free entry point covers basic invoicing and estimates. Look elsewhere if your team needs more than Elite’s 10 members or 25 monthly e-signatures, or if you want the project features without moving beyond Plus.
