BoomTax
BoomTax is a web and API service for electronic filing of 1099, W-2, and ACA forms. It accepts imported tax data through Excel templates or integrations with accounting and payroll systems such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, ADP, Workday, and others. Its REST API accepts JSON submissions, validates data before filing, tracks status, and generates recipient-copy PDFs. BoomTax can file with the IRS, SSA, and state agencies, while automatic checks include TIN matching against IRS records, EIN verification, and error detection. Recipient copies can be sent by print and mail, compliant e-delivery with consent collection, or self-service PDF printing. Users can create an account and import data without a credit card; payment is required for e-filing, downloading, or printing. BoomTax says its workflow does not require customers’ own IRS or SSA account or TCC. It offers unlimited corrections, SOC 2 Type II certification, and 256-bit encryption in transit and at rest.
