Alexa for Shopping
Alexa for Shopping is an AI shopping assistant in the Amazon Shopping app and on Amazon.com, available to U.S. customers. It answers shopping questions, recommends products, and compares selected items by features, prices, and reviews. Customers can view price history for up to a full year on hundreds of millions of products in Amazon’s store. Scheduled Actions can research products and send notifications or add items to a cart once or on a recurring basis. Other tools include photo-based visual search, package tracking, order-status checks, price alerts, and Auto Buy at a set price. Shop Direct surfaces products from stores across the web; Buy for Me can purchase eligible products using a customer’s primary address and credit card. Shopping context can carry across Amazon’s site and app and several Alexa devices and apps. Alexa+ customers can browse and shop the full Amazon store on Echo Show using voice, touch, or both. The service is free for signed-in Amazon customers; Prime is not required. Customers can review and manage Alexa interactions, including shopping conversations, on Review Alexa History.
Pinterest Lens
Pinterest Lens lets people search for ideas using objects in pictures. On mobile, users can take a photo or choose one from the camera roll; on the web, they can upload an image or select one previously uploaded. Pinching to zoom or tapping an object helps focus the camera. Visual search can find Pins with items similar to a whole image or part of one, and suggested keywords or refinements can narrow results. Where available, users can select an object in a Pin to find similar items for sale on merchant websites. They can also cut objects out of Pins and add them to collages. Pinterest says visual search features are not available on ads or collage Pins. Lens is free on Android, iOS, and web, and requires a Pinterest account; mobile camera search requires camera access. Pinterest provides controls to access, edit, or delete personal data and adjust certain privacy and data-sharing settings. On Android, camera permission allows Lens to take pictures or look for ideas through the camera.
