Altitask
Altitask is a student planning workspace that turns course materials, lectures, and meetings into transcripts, summaries, tasks, projects, study plans, and calendar events. Students can import university calendars through ICS, schedule recurring classes, and create dated assignment tasks by uploading or pasting a.txt or.docx syllabus. Recorded lectures in.mp3,.wav,.m4a, or.mp4 format, up to 200 MB, become transcripts and summaries. The workspace includes tasks, projects, a calendar, TipTap rich-text notes, public-submission forms, and a kanban board. Its free plan includes 3 Altitasks, 25 tasks, 5 projects, 5 notes, and 5 forms, with unlimited calendar events. Pro costs $6.99 a month; Plus costs $9.99 a month and includes more monthly AI compute. An extra owned workspace costs $3.99 a month. Altitask says its self-hosted dww-farmer-v1 model handles summaries, task generation, and its 37-tool assistant, while transcription uses faster-whisper on its server. It says audio and notes stay on its own stack rather than being sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, or Groq.
Eightify
Eightify uses AI to summarize YouTube videos and identify key information. Its summaries include timestamps for jumping to a topic, an overview of top comments, and video transcripts; it also offers a transcript generator and can summarize transcripts. Users can shape key insights by choosing a focus, format, length, and grouping, then share summaries as links or export them. Summaries and translations are available in more than 40 languages. The Chrome extension listing says it handles videos up to 10 hours and is powered by Claude and ChatGPT. Eightify names podcasts, interviews, science and technology, business, investing, news, health, and personal growth as possible subjects. It is available on Android, iOS, web, and as a browser extension. A free plan and free trial are available. Eightify Pro costs $9.99 a month, billed monthly, or $59.99 a year, billed annually. It does not summarize webpages or accept file uploads. Eightify says it collects contact, device, and usage data and applies security measures, while noting that absolute protection cannot be guaranteed.
