Overview

Amaka connects sales and payment apps to accounting software, automating transaction flows for small businesses and the accountants who support them. It is most compelling for teams that need a low-cost way to sync a modest volume of transactions; the free plan’s 60-transaction monthly ceiling makes volume the first decision point.

It connects with Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage, and MYOB, and its connectors include Shopify, Square, Etsy, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, DocuSign, TrackTik, and Yoco. Amazon and Stripe are coming soon, not current integration options. A managed reconciliation service adds help from integration specialists and AI agents to reconcile and monitor synced transactions.

Key features

Sync, mapping, and reconciliation

Sales and payment transaction syncing is the core job. COGS, inventory, detailed sync formats, and advanced mapping are available only with selected apps and plans, so businesses that depend on those details should confirm that their particular connection supports them. Amaka also offers rules-based tax handling, basic inventory accounting, partial payout reconciliation, marketplace support, multi-currency accounting, and bank feeds.

Setup ranges from Express defaults with automatic account mapping to Advanced customization or a Guided session with an integration expert. The free one-to-one Zoom session can cover setup, demos, technical questions, and sync issues—a useful option for businesses that want help configuring a connection without moving to a paid plan. For a broader reconciliation need, the managed service extends beyond setup assistance to ongoing transaction reconciliation and monitoring.

Pricing

Amaka has a usable free entry point, but its caps are tight for growing shops. Back-synced transactions count toward the monthly transaction allowance, and syncing stops when a plan reaches its limit until the next billing cycle or an upgrade.

Plan	Price	Limits and inclusions
Free	Free	Up to 60 transactions/month, 1 integration, 1 location/store, and backsync up to 1 day. COGS and inventory are unavailable.
Premium	18.00 USD per month, billed per month	Up to 500 transactions/month, 2 integrations, 2 locations/stores, backsync up to 90 days, and a 7-day free trial.
Premium+	49.00 USD per month, billed per month	Unlimited transactions, integrations, and locations/stores, backsync up to 365 days, and a 7-day free trial.

Free suits a single store with light transaction volume and little need for historical syncing. Premium is the practical step up for a small operation that needs two integrations and up to 500 monthly transactions, though businesses near that cap should account for backsync usage. Premium+ removes the stated transaction, integration, and location limits and extends backsync to a year, making it the fit for higher-volume or multi-store workflows. The trade-off is a higher monthly cost; the plans are billed monthly.

Platforms

Amaka runs on the web. That keeps it accessible through a browser, while the listed platform coverage does not include a desktop or mobile app.

Who it's for

Amaka is aimed at small businesses, owners, accountants, and bookkeepers who want sales and payment data transferred into accounting systems rather than entered manually. Its free tier and setup guidance suit a small or newly configured workflow. Businesses with larger volumes, multiple stores, or deeper historical backsync needs should budget for Premium+ or compare alternatives; features such as COGS and inventory depend on the app-plan combination.

Pros and cons

Pros: A free plan supports up to 60 transactions monthly, giving a small operation room to start without a subscription.
Pros: Express, Advanced, and expert-guided setup accommodate different levels of customization, with a free Zoom session for assistance.
Pros: Premium+ includes unlimited transactions, integrations, and locations/stores, plus up to 365 days of backsync.
Cons: The free plan is limited to one integration and one location/store, allows just one day of backsync, and excludes COGS and inventory.
Cons: Syncing pauses at the plan’s transaction limit, and backsync consumes that allowance too.
Cons: Amazon and Stripe are not yet current connectors, and advanced sync options vary by app and plan.

Alternatives

For a wider comparison, see Ecommerce Accounting Software.

Entriwise is worth considering for e-commerce sellers who need up to 6,000 monthly transactions on its Standard plan; that plan costs 41.00 USD per month, billed $490 billed yearly, and includes one channel, region, and user. Webgility suits readers who need Windows support as well as web access; its Pro plan is 69.00 USD per month, billed annually, with 300 orders monthly, two sales channels, and three months of historical data. Synder is another paid web option, with a Basic plan at 52.00 USD per month billed yearly for 500 synced transactions monthly and two integration slots.

Bizzle is an alternative for a different kind of workflow. Ceendesis Accounting is another option. A2X is another option. Dext Commerce is another option. DeepEcom is another option.

Verdict

Choose Amaka if your business needs accounting integrations, flexible setup, and a free way to handle a modest transaction load. Its strongest case is the combination of a genuine free tier, expert setup help, and an unlimited-transaction Premium+ option. Look elsewhere if your workflow depends on a currently unavailable connector, a 500-plus monthly volume at the lower paid tier, or COGS and inventory support that is not confirmed for your app and plan.
