In their own words
Apexo
Apexo is an open-source dental practice manager for scheduling, patient records, and clinic reporting. Its calendar is designed for high-traffic clinics, and it tracks medical and dental records. Automated financial reports and clinic health statistics provide practice information. The app works offline with local-first data and syncs across endpoints.
Apexo is free under GNU GPLv3, but requires users to host a PocketBase server themselves. It supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, and lists English, Arabic, Spanish, Polish, and Kurdish. The manual describes scheduled and manual backups, with optional S3 storage, plus AI voice transcription and receipt scanning; its privacy notice says data is not used for training. On Windows, it can monitor folders for DICOM X-ray files from RVG sensors and sync imported images through PocketBase. The manual also documents SMTP email and S3-compatible storage for backups and uploaded photos. The current version cannot migrate data from the earlier Apexo application because it is a rewrite.
Denteasy
Denteasy is cloud software for Indian dental clinics, with appointments, patient records, GST billing, payments, and Care Plans in one system. Clinical records include a tooth-chart EMR, treatment history, notes, and X-ray and file uploads. The appointment view spans doctors, tracks cancellations and no-shows, and rejects clashing bookings. Billing supports GST-ready invoices with gapless serials, UPI, card, and cash payments, plus shareable invoice PDFs. Care Plans can include cleanings, discounts, and family cover, with benefits applied when a member is billed. Dashboards report on revenue, collections, treatment mix, and doctor performance. Listed security measures include role-based access, encrypted connections, a hash-chained audit trail, and daily offsite backups; records, files, and backups are kept in Mumbai. Denteasy is in a pilot with a small group of clinics in Andhra Pradesh. Its Android and iOS apps are not yet published to stores, and WhatsApp reminders are planned. The Free plan is free for the first three months; Clinic is priced on request, quoted per clinic.
