In their own words

Archon Data Store

Archon Data Store is a Lakehouse-based archival platform for enterprises that need to retain historical data without keeping legacy systems available for access. It organizes records across hot, warm, and cold storage tiers, with codec workflows, tier migration, and compression of up to 80%. Its write-once, read-many architecture supports retention-enforced immutability, chain of custody, and immutable audit logs. Governance features include automated retention and legal holds, approval-based purge workflows, quality tracking, encryption, redaction, and defensible disposition. Users can search with SQL and metadata across applications and use e-discovery workflows. Analytics and AI-driven insights can run on archived data without first restoring it to a live system. The platform connects to enterprise systems through open APIs and ETL connectors, and retrieval is available through Trino and Spark query engines, dashboards, SQL, or APIs. Deployment can span cloud archival storage, object storage, on-premises systems, and SaaS environments. Pricing is available on request.

Salesforce Archive

Salesforce Archive is a web product for managing large Salesforce data volumes through scheduled archiving, storage analysis and record restoration. Policies can move inactive records, files and attachments, including objects with lookup relationships, while applying retention periods that can be changed later. Salesforce says this can improve query and reporting performance and reduce storage costs. Storage Analyzer identifies high-usage objects and visualizes expected reductions. Users with permission can locate archived records and files in Salesforce record context, then restore them individually or in bulk. The product supports retention policies, deletion requests for personally identifiable information and freezing records during active litigation. Salesforce Connect can expose archived data as external objects in custom tabs or through SOQL, requiring an Archive license and a Developer, Enterprise, Performance or Unlimited edition. Pricing varies by archiving needs, company size and industry; a listed starting price is $1/user/mo (annual).
