Overview

The product centers on each durable item: what it is, who has it, where it is and what has happened over its lifetime. Multi-entity support is useful for organizations that track assets across entities. This focus makes AssetCenter a poor fit for operations built around stock quantities or fulfillment.

Key features

Records can hold category fields, serial numbers, status, photos and documents, with barcode or QR access. A timeline connects purchases, assignments, moves, condition checks, maintenance, repairs, warranties, costs, tasks and decommissioning. That item-by-item history is more useful for accountability and service records than a simple current-location list.

Subscription tracking covers software licenses and recurring services, including vendor, plan, seats, billing frequency, contract terms, renewal date and cost. Reports cover straight-line depreciation, end of life, asset events and recurring subscription costs, plus location and assignment-history maps. Straight-line depreciation may suit basic book tracking; teams requiring tax depreciation will need another tool.

The AI Asset Assistant answers natural-language questions using records a user is permitted to see, and can research manufacturer specifications with sources. Its monthly chat allowance is 500 on Growth and 1,500 on Professional, so the higher tier matters for teams expecting frequent use. Microsoft Entra ID directory sync and Apple Business device import bring in directory and device information, including order and AppleCare details.

Roles, permissions, category-level access restrictions, two-factor authentication and Google or Microsoft sign-in provide ways to control access. The product can be installed on a phone or tablet home screen in PWA mode, and API access is included on every plan, including Free, subject to plan and rate limits.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free with no time limit, but is capped at 25 available or deployed assets and has no reports. It is a useful small-scale starting point, though the lack of reporting and low cap limit its value as a continuing operational system.

Starter costs 39.00 USD per month and allows 250 assets and 5 seats, with unlimited subscriptions, people and locations, 500 GB of storage and Basic support. It suits a small team that can stay within those ceilings and does not need the AI assistant. Growth at 129.00 USD per month raises capacity to 1,500 assets and 15 seats, adds 500 AI chats per month, 2 TB storage and Priority support. It is the more plausible choice when the asset base or team outgrows Starter.

Professional costs 299.00 USD per month, with 5,000 assets, unlimited seats, 1,500 AI chats per month, 5 TB storage, Priority support and onboarding assistance. Its higher ceiling is aimed at larger deployments; teams with fewer users or modest AI needs may not benefit enough to justify the step up. A 14-day trial is available. All paid plans list monthly pricing.

Platforms

AssetCenter runs on web, iOS and Android, with API access. Its PWA installation supports phone and tablet home-screen use; it is not described as a separate native mobile app.

Who it's for

Small and midsize teams that need individual asset histories, assignments, subscription records and controlled access are the natural audience. It is not the right choice for inventory workflows requiring stock counts, reorder points, picking, fulfillment or consumable bins.

Pros and cons

Pro: The timeline joins ownership, maintenance and retirement events, giving teams a coherent history for each durable item.
Pro: Subscription records and recurring-cost reporting extend the register beyond physical equipment.
Pro: API access is included even on Free, while access controls include category restrictions and two-factor authentication.
Con: Free stops at 25 assets and has no reports, so meaningful reporting requires a paid plan.
Con: Starter's 5-seat and 250-asset ceilings can force an upgrade as a team grows.
Con: There is no stock or fulfillment management, and tax depreciation is unsupported.

Alternatives

Fixed Asset Management Software and Asset Tracking Software are category roundups for readers comparing a broader field. Consider AssetFrog if a free tier for up to 50 assets and one user is a better fit, or its annual-billed 16.00 AUD per month AF100 plan for up to 100 assets and unlimited users. Fixed Asset Register is another option to compare for teams seeking a paid product with a free plan and trial.

xAssets ITAM may suit a reader looking for a self-hosted or Windows option, or a free one-user edition covering 100 endpoints. AssetAccountant offers a free tier for up to 10 assets with features and integrations except leases, making it a possible small-register alternative. AssetComply is worth comparing if a free plan for up to 100 assets is the priority.

Bassets eDepreciation may be preferable when a paid depreciation-focused product for up to 5,000 assets is the fit; its Compact Edition is 9.99 USD per month per user. Minty Assets offers a free 50-asset tier with eight reports and CSV import and export, a useful comparison for teams prioritizing those capabilities. AssetLens is another option to consider for self-hosted deployment.

Verdict

Choose AssetCenter if your team needs durable-item accountability, lifecycle history and recurring subscription records in one system, and can work within its plan limits. Look elsewhere if you need inventory operations, tax depreciation, or a free plan with room for more than 25 assets and reporting.
