In their own words
Audioboom
Audioboom is a web service for podcast hosting, distribution, monetization, and production, made by a company headquartered in London. Creators can upload and schedule episodes for publication on their podcast page, RSS feed, and distributed platforms. Submission tools cover Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Deezer, iHeart, Spotify, and TuneIn. Uploads can reach 1 GB and 10 hours, with MP3, FLAC, AAC, WAV, OGG, and M4A supported. Audioboom re-encodes audio to 48 kHz constant 128 kbps MP3 and normalizes loudness. Analytics include listens, estimated listeners, comparisons, CSV export, episode, location, device, platform, and demographic data. Paid plans provide Showcase advertising access, while Pros adds live reads and host endorsements. Private podcasts use secret RSS URLs or members-only embeds, but files have no DRM. There is no free plan; listed account prices start at $4.99 per month for Archive.
Gumball
Gumball is a paid web marketplace connecting advertisers with creators who sell host-read podcast and YouTube ads. Advertisers can filter creators by genre, audience profile, and air date while viewing pricing and inventory. They can set up campaigns online, manage scripts and coupon codes, review airchecks, and pay by credit card, with a dedicated sales team available. Creators manage schedules, blackout dates, placements, CPMs, campaign materials, and payment details. Gumshoe tracks podcast impressions and campaign delivery, measures verified YouTube views through a read-only YouTube API connection, and lets creators review airchecks. Direct deposits use Stripe, with one payee per setup. Embedded-ad support is listed for Art19, Megaphone, Omny Studio, Simplecast Enterprise, SoundStack, Spreaker except Prime Network, and Transistor for embedded ads only. Gumball launched in 2020 and is associated with New York and Los Angeles. Its listed ad formats include host-read, dynamic, embedded, and live read, with advanced targeting and engagement measurement.
