In their own words
AutoEntry
AutoEntry captures information from receipts, invoices, bank statements and other financial documents for accountants, bookkeepers and businesses. Users can photograph, scan, upload or email documents, then categorise extracted data and publish it to accounting software. Its OCR and machine-learning extraction is described by the maker as up to 99% accurate; the system can also suggest VAT codes and supplier accounts based on prior use. Listed integrations include Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, KashFlow, SortMyBooks, ClearBooks, AccountsIQ, MYOB AccountRight, ReckonOne, FuseMetrix and exact. The iOS and Android apps handle invoice and receipt uploads, manual and mileage expenses, and expense reports. Bank and supplier statements and file-management folders require the web app. AutoEntry runs on Android, iOS, web and Windows. Plans start at $13 a month, billed monthly and excluding VAT, for 50 credits and unlimited users; unused credits can be kept for up to 90 days. A free trial is available, but there is no free plan.
Receiptly
Receiptly is a mobile receipt and expense tracker for Android and iOS. It scans receipts with on-device text recognition, including full line items, and can create separate entries in batches from multiple images. Optional Smart Scan is available. Purchases can be searched and organized by merchant, category, tag, or product. The app tracks personal and business expenses, income, credits, and reimbursements, with reports by day, month, category, or custom period. Users can record warranty dates and set expiry reminders, and save receipt currencies and exchange rates for reporting in a home currency. Exports are available in PDF, CSV, and Excel; full reports and exports require Pro on iOS or Plus on Android. Receiptly has a free download with optional in-app purchases and a listed 7-day trial. On iPhone and iPad it offers read-only Gmail receipt import and Apple Shortcuts. Receipt data stays on the device, with optional iCloud sync on iOS. Android data does not sync with iPhone or iCloud.
