Overview

Bambuser brings together live shopping, purchasable short videos, chat, and video consultations. Retailers can embed these experiences on websites, while Live Shopping can also reach apps and social channels. The company was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Stockholm.

Key features

Video shopping

Live Shopping supports live and on-demand viewing, using either real-time streams or pre-recorded content. That flexibility suits retailers who want video to remain shoppable beyond a scheduled broadcast. Shoppable Video turns social posts, live shows, customer-created material, and campaigns into short clips shoppers can buy from. Product catalog sync is supported, but native social checkout is not; retailers should not choose Bambuser expecting checkout to happen natively on a social platform.

Consultations and integrations

Video Consultation supports both drop-in and pre-booked face-to-face calls, giving shoppers a route to individualized product guidance. Bambuser documents Shopify integration and says its consultation product can connect directly to CRMs such as Salesforce. It also supports Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce (Magento), and BigCommerce, making it a plausible fit for retailers already using one of those systems.

Self-serve REST APIs support bespoke scaling and automation. Mobile SDK access is reserved for Pro and Enterprise, so teams needing that capability must move beyond the lower tiers.

Security and hosting

Bambuser says its Stockholm site is ISO 27001 certified, covering its information security management system. It describes least-privilege role-based access, production access reviews, and multifactor authentication for critical systems. Its cloud infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 250 views per month, 2 users, 1 domain/market, 10 GB storage, and AI chat support. It is a useful way for a very small operation to start, but the limited views, seats, and storage leave little room for a busy storefront.

Essential costs 79.00 USD per month, billed annually at $948.00. It raises the allowance to 2,000 views per month, 3 users, and 100 GB storage, while keeping the 1 domain/market limit and AI chat support. Content license protection and guided onboarding are included. This is the clearest step up for a small retailer that can work within a single market and modest viewing volume.

Pro costs 249.00 USD per month, billed annually at $2988.00. It provides custom usage and viewing plans, 10+ users, 1+ domains/markets, 1000+ GB storage, human support, content license protection, full white labeling, mobile SDK, and SSO login. It is better suited to larger teams and multi-market operations that need branded experiences or mobile app integration; the higher fixed cost and annual billing make it a substantial commitment.

Enterprise has custom pricing and is billed yearly. It includes custom usage and viewing plans, 10+ users, 1+ domains/markets, 1000+ GB storage, a dedicated customer manager, content license protection, full white labeling, guided onboarding, mobile SDK, and SSO login. Global merchants needing a dedicated account contact may find the tier appropriate, while smaller buyers should compare its custom terms against Pro.

Free and Essential include AI chat support; Pro upgrades to accessible human support, and Enterprise adds a dedicated customer manager. Bambuser charges $0.25 per view beyond the monthly allowance and says users can upgrade to increase monthly views. That overage can make a low entry price less attractive if viewing demand exceeds the selected plan.

Platforms

Bambuser supports Android, iOS, web, and API access. Mobile SDK support is included on Pro and Enterprise, not the lower plans.

Who it's for

Bambuser is aimed at small businesses, retailers, and global merchants, but its tiers create distinct use cases. Free and Essential fit small teams testing or operating a single domain/market; Pro and Enterprise better match businesses with larger teams, multiple markets, or a need for white labeling and mobile SDK access. It is a weaker fit for retailers that need native social checkout or expect high view volumes at a low cost.

Pros and cons

Pros: Live and recorded video, short-form shoppable clips, and face-to-face consultations cover several points in the shopping journey.
Pros: Support for four major commerce platforms and CRM connectivity for consultations can reduce friction for retailers already using those systems.
Pros: Higher tiers add custom viewing plans, substantial storage, white labeling, and mobile SDK access for larger operations.
Cons: Free allows only 250 views monthly, while Essential caps at 2,000; overages cost $0.25 per view.
Cons: Human support, 10+ users, multi-market use, and mobile SDK access require Pro or Enterprise.
Cons: Essential and Pro prices are billed annually, and Enterprise uses custom yearly pricing.
Cons: Native social checkout is not supported, limiting its appeal for sellers who want social-platform checkout.

Alternatives

Consider iimpro if a free-to-install option with a 6% commission on order subtotals and no monthly subscription better suits your sales model. Taggbox may suit buyers focused on feeds and posts: its free plan includes 1 feed, 500 views per month, 10+ platforms, updates every 4 days, manual moderation, and 500 posts.

TalkShopLive offers a free Shopify Basic plan with usage charges of $0.30 per item sold and 10.25% of order value, so compare its transaction-based pricing with Bambuser's view allowance and overage. Pinterest Shopping is a fit for merchants who want free product listings on Pinterest; campaigns are paid, and the plan facts distinguish promoted catalog-created product Pins.

Videowise is another option for buyers considering paid video software. CommentSold may be worth comparing for businesses considering a live-selling app and shoppable video clips. eStreamly offers a Starter plan at 39.00 USD per month, billed quarterly, with 10,000 views per month and 25 hosted videos. Filmo is another paid alternative for Shopify users comparing monthly plans.

Verdict

Choose Bambuser if video commerce, personalized consultations, and integration with established commerce platforms belong in the same retail experience. Its breadth is the main reason to choose it; view caps, per-view overages, and annual commitments are the main reasons to look elsewhere or calculate expected usage carefully first.
