In their own words
Barberly
Barberly provides barbershops and salons with branded apps, online booking, walk-in queues, payments, team tools, and marketing features. A shop can publish a mobile app on the App Store and Google Play with bookings, waitlists, payments, and loyalty features. Its branded booking website supports a custom domain and can be embedded into an existing site. A tablet can act as a self-check-in kiosk, adding walk-ins to the queue alongside online bookings; the appointment board shows upcoming appointments and the electronic queue. Clients can book from a shop’s Google Search or Maps profile, with separate links for multiple locations. Supported payment providers are Stripe, Square, Revolut, and SumUp; Barberly says it takes no commission on payments. Businesses can require deposits, saved card details, or advance payment, and configure fees for no-shows and late cancellations. Plans include unlimited locations, team members, services, and app users, with no fee per booking. The subscription includes 500 SMS notifications per month; additional messages cost $0.03 each. Pricing starts at $9/mo, and the 30-day trial includes every feature without requiring a credit card.
Nearcut
Nearcut is an online booking system designed to help barbers run their barbershops, available on the web, Android, and iOS. Customers can book around a barber’s availability, while the system also handles walk-ins. When an appointment is cancelled, Nearcut can notify interested customers to help fill the opening. Businesses can take all or part of a customer’s payment at booking, online or offline, to help guard against no-shows. The Free for You plan has no monthly bill and includes automatic email confirmations and reminders, unlimited SMS reminders for online bookings, and Facebook and Instagram “Book Now” integration. Clients pay a small booking charge at checkout, which is refunded if they cancel. Nearcut says it can create a custom business app for the Apple App Store and Google Play. Subscription pricing is monthly and based on the barbershop’s needs; the calculator shows £00.00 per month plus VAT. The Subscription plan has a 30-day free trial and no setup fee, and can be changed or cancelled after the trial without a long-term commitment. Free for You is described as suited to businesses starting out or operating solo, while Subscription is for established or growing barbershops.
