Overview

Birch brings repetitive paid-ad work into one service: teams can automate campaign decisions, launch batches of ad sets, promote qualifying organic posts, and produce reports. It began as Revealbot in New York City in 2016 and adopted the Birch name in 2024.

Birch Hub is a separate server-side tracking option. It collects events with a first-party pixel and gateway server, then sends them to Meta through CAPI. That is relevant to teams seeking a first-party event route, but the Hub is priced by event volume per gateway rather than included as a general-purpose campaign feature.

Key features

Rules and launches

Rules can combine nested AND/OR conditions, custom metrics, and more than 20 actions, with checks as often as every 15 minutes. This gives performance teams room to encode detailed recurring decisions and respond frequently to changing campaign conditions. Birch AI can draft a rule from a natural-language request, but the user reviews it before it goes live; that review step is important when automated decisions affect live campaigns.

Launcher creates multiple ad sets at once, with up to 50 ads in each. It is a practical fit for teams rolling out many creative variations, though the stated cap applies per ad set and does not establish a broader account limit.

Boosting and reporting

Birch can turn qualifying Facebook and Instagram organic posts into ads when custom conditions are met. This connects organic performance to paid promotion without requiring every post to be boosted, making it more useful for teams with defined promotion criteria than for advertisers focused only on manually built campaigns.

Scheduled cross-platform reporting and white-label reports with client branding suit agencies and teams that need recurring client-facing output. Reporting is a meaningful part of the product, but reports, like automated rules, are disabled when the trial ends until a plan is chosen.

Integrations and data handling

Integrations include Slack, Google Analytics, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Adjust, Hyros, Wicked Reports, and AppsFlyer. Birch’s advertising-platform support includes Meta, Instagram, Google Ads, Snapchat Ads, and TikTok Ads, giving it a cross-network remit rather than a single-social-channel focus.

Birch describes encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access controls, and AWS-hosted production systems. It says workspace data used by Birch AI is processed to answer requests and is not used to train external AI models.

Pricing

Birch has no free campaign-management plan. Its 14-day free trial requires no credit card, and users can cancel anytime; once it ends, automated rules and reports are disabled until a plan is selected. That is a short evaluation window for teams that need to assess recurring workflows, and it is not a continuing free option.

Essential costs 49.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with annual billing offered at 20% off. Pricing varies with monthly ad spend across connected accounts. It includes workspaces with Overview, post boosting, reports, an Activity page, Slack integration, and email support. It suits teams centered on monitoring, promotion, and reporting; it gives up the Pro plan’s automated rules and strategies, Explorer, Launcher, custom metrics and timeframes, and Stage free version.

Pro costs 99.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with annual billing offered at 20% off; pricing varies with monthly ad spend across connected accounts. It includes Essential features plus automated rules and strategies, Explorer, Launcher, Stage free version, custom metrics and timeframes, and Slack. For teams buying Birch specifically to automate decisions or launch ad batches, Pro is the more relevant starting point, though spend-based pricing means the stated price is not the whole pricing structure.

Enterprise has custom pricing and requires contacting sales. It includes Pro features, a custom Stage limit, onboarding and technical setup help, and premium support; Birch says it has no limits and no overages. It is aimed at organizations that need that support and capacity rather than a fixed self-serve plan.

Birch Hub has its own event-volume pricing per gateway: 0.00 USD per free for 10,000 events/mo; 10.00 USD per month for 500,000 events/mo; 49.00 USD per month for 5,000,000 events/mo; 149.00 USD per month for 20,000,000 events/mo; 249.00 USD per month for 50,000,000 events/mo; and 499.00 USD per month for 150,000,000 events/mo. The free Hub allowance is capped at 10,000 events/mo per gateway, so teams routing more event volume need a paid tier.

Platforms

Birch runs on iOS and the web. Its listed advertising platforms are Meta, Instagram, Google Ads, Snapchat Ads, and TikTok Ads, making it a fit for teams managing campaigns across several networks rather than software limited to one social platform.

Who it's for

Birch is a strong fit for performance marketers and agencies handling sustained paid campaigns, especially when they need rule-based operations, bulk launches, condition-based post promotion, and client-branded reporting together. It is less suitable for occasional advertisers seeking an ongoing free plan, or teams that only need reporting and find the paid automation tier unnecessary.

Pros and cons

Detailed automation: Nested conditions, custom metrics, more than 20 actions, and checks as often as every 15 minutes support complex recurring workflows.
Useful campaign breadth: Bulk ad-set creation, conditional post boosting, and scheduled white-label reports cover distinct jobs in one service.
Meaningful evaluation limit: The 14-day trial has no credit-card requirement, but rules and reports stop at its end without a plan.
Spend-based plan pricing: Essential and Pro have stated starting prices, but connected-account ad spend affects the actual price.
No ongoing free campaign plan: Teams that need a permanent no-cost option must look elsewhere; Hub’s free tier is an event allowance, not a free version of campaign management.

Alternatives

For a broader set of options, see Social Media Advertising Software.

RedTrack is worth comparing for readers who prioritize attribution and want a free plan with no card, trial clock, or expiry; its free Relay plan is limited to one store or website and one user, with no ad-level spend sync.
Madgicx is another paid option with a 7-day free trial; compare it if its advertised automation, targeting, and analytics package better matches your needs.
Attensify has a free Starter plan for one website, three social channels, and 50 AI-generated posts per month, making it a better fit for low-volume social publishing and basic analytics.
GetChannel offers a forever-free plan for one workspace, up to three connected channels, seven days of data history, and one team member; choose it if those caps suit your reporting needs.
AdRoll offers a no-fee-to-start retargeting plan with payment only for media, for readers focused on retargeting campaigns.
HiConversion is another freemium option to compare.
Zalster offers a 49.00 USD per month reports plan with unlimited reports and a first report free, a narrower alternative for teams primarily seeking reporting.
AdEspresso starts with a 49.00 USD per month plan capped at $1,000/month spend and supports Facebook and Instagram campaigns; consider it if those networks and that spend limit fit your needs.

Verdict

Choose Birch if your performance team needs automation, campaign launches, conditional post boosting, and client-ready reporting across its supported ad platforms. Its most compelling case is combining those recurring jobs, while the spend-based pricing and the trial’s loss of rules and reports make it a poor match for teams seeking predictable low-cost or ongoing free access.
