In their own words
Botpress
Botpress is a platform for building, deploying, and monitoring AI agents for customer support and other workflows. Botpress Studio provides a visual environment for designing conversation flows, branching logic, and multi-step automations. Its Autonomous Engine uses language-model reasoning and structured logic to select actions, run workflows, and connect to APIs and external systems. Teams can add documents, websites, spreadsheets, and CSVs to Knowledge Bases, while Tables store structured data across sessions. Custom code actions, bespoke integrations, multiple LLM configurations, and API access support tailored development. Integrations include channels and services such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Linear, and Stripe; a bot can have up to 30 installed integrations. Botpress Cloud is a managed web application and the recommended platform for new development. Self-hosted or locally installed v12 versions are sunset and unavailable for new deployments. The Free plan costs nothing and includes 25 conversations, 3 seats, and 3 AI agents. Plus costs $150 a month billed annually and includes 250 conversations per month; Team costs $750 a month billed annually and includes 1,500 conversations per month.
Neon AI
Neon AI describes private expert AI systems built with local fine-tuned language models, interactive panels, and human participants. Its collaborative architecture lets human specialists and AI subminds converse in real time, with logic that can be audited and traced. BrainForge turns company documents into a knowledge network and lists Drive, GitHub, Slack, Notion, Dropbox, and SharePoint as sources. Supported content formats include PDF, CSV, Markdown, DOCX, and HTML. Neon says deployments can run on premises or in a private cloud, connect to existing CRMs, helpdesks, APIs, chat systems, and databases, and use long-term semantic memory refined through conversations and analytics. Its examples span internal operations and HR, sales and marketing, product and customer service, and clinical work. A Python SDK is free for non-commercial use under 1000 users; it includes Deep Speech for offline use and Google Speech when online. Neon lists Android, Linux, self-hosted, and web platforms, plus voice and generative AI capabilities. Broader pricing is on request. The company says it began in Bellevue, Washington, in 2000 as an internet research lab and software developer under the name NeonGecko.
