In their own words
Buildern
Buildern is a construction management platform for residential and commercial teams, bringing project workflows, budgets, schedules, and communication together. Project tools include schedules, task tracking, document control, daily logs, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and client selections. Estimates can use cost catalogs, prebuilt assemblies, and unit-based pricing, then be converted into branded proposals. Financial management covers budgets, cost codes, bills, purchase orders, client invoices, and reporting.
Buildern connects accounting data with QuickBooks and Xero. Its AI can extract bill details from uploaded or emailed invoices and match bills to purchase orders. Built-in messaging and separate portals support clients, subcontractors, and vendors; field workers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients are free external users with limited portal functionality. The service is available on web, Android, iOS, and tablets for field and office teams. Starter costs $225 a month billed annually for two seats, with additional users at $81 USD per month. Professional costs $360 a month billed annually for four seats, with additional users at $90 USD per month. A seven-day trial is listed; there is no free plan.
Workhand
Workhand is a mobile-first field operations app for construction contractors, available on Android, iOS, and the web. It brings together jobs, estimates, invoices, crew messaging, costs, time, and payments. Contractors can create estimates for e-signature, send Stripe invoices, chat by job, track time and mileage, track subcontractor insurance certificates, and use daily logs, punch lists, and an AI receipt scanner. The Free plan costs nothing and allows one active job, one teammate, three estimates, and three invoices per month. Pro costs $34.99 a month and supports unlimited active jobs and up to five teammates. Team costs $89.99 a month and supports up to 15 teammates, with QuickBooks Online sync; QuickBooks Desktop is not supported. Some previously loaded records can be viewed offline, while chat, photo uploads, and new estimates can queue locally. Creating a new job fully offline is not supported. The app and customer estimates and invoices support English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. In the US, Stripe card payments cost 2.9% plus $0.30, with no added Workhand payment markup.
