In their own words
Cactoide
Cactoide is a free, open-source event RSVP platform for web use or self-hosting. Organizers create events without accounts, receive a unique URL, and share it through platforms or messaging apps. Guests follow the link and enter their name without registering. Events can accept unlimited responses or use a capacity limit, and special invite links can restrict participation to people who have them. Public events may be discovered and shared across connected Cactoide instances. Event pages provide ICS or webcal calendar links, with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and Outlook listed as compatible. Self-hosting documentation uses Docker Compose and a database; operators can enable federation with the FEDERATION_INSTANCE environment variable and configure instance details. The project is licensed under AGPL-3.0 and described as community-supported. Its README positions it as an alternative for small companies and groups. Proper internationalization is not implemented, although translation files are included.
Greenvelope
Greenvelope is a digital invitation and card service for planning events, managing guest lists, and tracking responses. Hosts can tailor fonts, colors, photos, layouts, envelopes, and background music, or upload their own artwork. Event tools include real-time RSVP tracking, custom questions, plus-one tracking, reminders, and seating charts. Invitations can go by email, SMS in supported countries, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or a shareable link. Guests can respond without an account or app installation, and without seeing advertisements. Hosts can export guest lists, RSVP status, plus ones, meal selections, and custom-question responses as CSV or Excel files. Salesforce integration imports campaign contacts and syncs RSVP data to campaign-member statuses in real time. The trial permits sending a real invitation to up to 10 people without a credit card. Plans include a Single Mailing at $59, paid once for up to 60 people and an Annual Membership at $225 a year for unlimited mailings of up to 150 people each. Greenvelope is available on Android, iOS, and web, and provides an API.
