Cadeau
Cadeau gives independent businesses a way to sell branded digital gift cards from their own websites. Merchants can add the gift card store with a script tag, then tailor its logo, colors, fonts, and card designs. The embed works with WordPress, Shopify, Angular, and static HTML sites. Payments run through Stripe Connect, with payouts sent to the merchant’s bank account. Recipients can save digital passes to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, where balances update in real time. A dashboard tracks sales, redemptions, and revenue, and the service supports multiple locations. Cadeau is bilingual in French and English and is aimed at Canadian restaurants, cafes, retailers, spas, salons, bakeries, and local shops. It runs on Android, iOS, and the web. The free plan has no monthly fee and charges 3% per transaction. Cadeau says merchants can launch in under 10 minutes without a developer. It says personal data is stored in Canadian data centres, while Twilio processes phone numbers in the United States for SMS and verification.
GiftFly
GiftFly lets local businesses create, sell, promote and track digital gift cards. Customers can buy cards online at any time and receive them by email or text. Merchants can create unlimited designs and run email promotions, bonus offers, giveaways and flash campaigns. Fundraisers can include sales goals, contribution levels and custom card designs. A dashboard shows sales and redemption activity and provides tools to create and promote cards. Businesses can sell cards from their website and Facebook page, and Clover Register integration supports sales and redemption at a Clover terminal. The merchant app can scan and redeem cards, process refunds and show activity; support lists it in the App Store. The Android merchant app is still in development, with dashboard Quick Redeem offered as an alternative. GiftFly lists no monthly charges, upfront costs or contracts. The plan includes 5,000 promotional emails per month. Online Stripe processing costs 2.90% + $0.30 per card transaction; convenience fees are 3.99% for cards up to $20, with an additional $0.99 for cards over $20. Purchased eGift cards do not expire.
