In their own words
Caiter
Caiter is catering software for preparing proposals and coordinating event orders, purchasing, kitchen production, clients, and menus. Its proposal builder can include dish photos, descriptions, and prices; clients can download quotes as Excel files and confirm orders through the proposal. The quote editor draws menu items from a catalog or previous events and calculates totals automatically. A built-in CRM tracks order status, client history, and menus, while the calendar displays events by date. Caiter combines purchasing needs across events and updates lists when orders or menu items change; lists can be exported to Excel. Kitchen lists show event details, group dishes by prep station, reflect order updates, and can be printed. Finance features calculate event profitability, track deposits and balances, and analyze products and services by revenue and profit. Caiter runs on Android, iOS, and the web. The Start plan costs $79 a month, billed monthly, and includes up to 50 proposals and three users. A 14-day trial offers full access for up to 10 proposals for real clients and requires no credit card. Caiter also says it imports a menu within one business day and provides email support, with priority support on Business.
CartFlow
CartFlow is back-office software for food trucks, market stalls, coffee carts, caterers and other mobile food businesses. It organizes event applications and bookings alongside staff, packing lists, logistics and event records. CartFlow is not a point-of-sale system; it connects to the POS an operator already uses. Reporting covers profitability by event, product and venue, including year-over-year comparisons. Inventory tools provide live counts, low-stock alerts and per-event stock usage. Sales, stock adjustments and event notes can be recorded offline and sync when a device reconnects. The browser-based service runs on phones, tablets and laptops, and can be installed on a phone home screen without an app store. Listed integrations include Square, SumUp, Zettle, Shopify POS, Lightspeed Retail, Clover, Toast, Loyverse, Xero, Zapier, HNRY via Zapier and Stripe. Free, Pro and Business plans are listed. Pro costs NZ$39 per month and Business costs NZ$79 per month; the pricing note says paid plans start at $29/mo.
