Overview

Teamup is a cloud-based shared calendar for teams coordinating schedules, resources and operations. It is best suited to groups that need multiple calendars and fine-grained access for staff, clients or collaborators. Its broad calendar toolkit scales across several paid tiers, though user caps and one-way calendar sync can be limiting.

Key features

Views and event details

Twelve views, including year and table layouts, give teams options for scanning schedules at different levels. Time blocking supports allocating work in calendar slots. Events can hold custom fields, images and attachments, and can be shared as standalone pages. That combination suits bookings and operational schedules where an event needs more context than a title and time. Custom-field capacity is a meaningful constraint: Free and Plus allow one, while Pro raises that to ten.

Access and integrations

Nine permission levels help distinguish what different people can access, and calendars can be shared by link without requiring recipients to have accounts. This is useful when schedules must reach people outside the core team, but administrators need to choose permissions carefully. Teamup lists an API, iCalendar feeds, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Trello and Zapier integrations. Calendar sync is one-way, so it is less suitable for teams that need changes to flow both ways between calendars.

Security and support

Teamup says it is certified under ISO/IEC 27001 and compliant with the EU GDPR; it does not publish SOC reports. It describes TLS connections using 128-bit AES encryption and AES encryption for stored data and backups. Production services run on AWS, with user content stored redundantly in Oregon and Ireland. Private-server hosting is unavailable, which rules it out for organizations that require self-hosting. Email support is included across the listed plans; Enterprise adds call-back support.

Pricing

Teamup has a free plan, a three-day trial and paid plans starting at $12/mo (annual). Paid plans are priced per month and billed yearly at the stated prices; monthly billing costs more.

Free: 0.00 USD per free, for as long as needed. It allows 5 sub-calendars, 5 users, 1 custom field and 1 year of historical data. It is a practical starting point for a small group, but its user and calendar caps leave little room to grow.
Plus: 12.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $15 billed monthly. It raises the limits to 12 sub-calendars and 12 users, adds 2GB storage, Daily Agenda and 5-year historical data, but still allows only one custom field.
Pro: 30.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $35 billed monthly. Its 25 sub-calendars, 25 users, 10 custom fields and 100GB storage suit teams needing richer event records; inbound iCal feeds sync every hour.
Business: 70.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $85 billed monthly. It provides 70 sub-calendars, 50 users, 20 custom fields, 400GB storage and 10-year historical data, with inbound iCal feed sync every 15 minutes.
Enterprise: 125.00 USD per month billed yearly, or $160 billed monthly. It raises capacity to 150 sub-calendars, 100 users, 50 custom fields and 1000GB storage, with 15-year historical data, five-minute inbound iCal feed sync and call-back support. Its higher cap still tops out at 100 users.
Organization Accounts: Starts at US$1,200 per year and scales incrementally according to number of users. It adds SSO, scalable user management, central administration and consolidated billing for multiple master calendars, making it the relevant option for organizations managing several calendars centrally.

The lower tiers are cost-conscious but impose tight user, sub-calendar and history limits. For teams needing faster inbound iCal refreshes or more storage and custom fields, the step up to Pro or higher is substantial; the yearly prices are lower than the monthly-billing alternatives.

Platforms

Teamup is available on web, iOS and Android, and has an API. Mobile apps support teams that need calendar access away from a desktop.

Who it's for

Teamup fits businesses and teams coordinating schedules, resources and operations, from room bookings to field-crew job schedules. It is strongest when several people need different levels of access to shared calendars. It is a poorer fit for organizations requiring two-way sync, private-server hosting or a single calendar with more than 100 users.

Pros and cons

Pros: Twelve views and nine permission levels give teams flexibility in how schedules are reviewed and shared.
Pros: Account-free link sharing and standalone event pages make it possible to share calendar information without requiring every recipient to join.
Pros: Paid tiers expand storage, custom fields and history, while Enterprise adds faster inbound iCal refresh and call-back support.
Cons: Calendar sync is one-way, which limits workflows that depend on updates moving in both directions.
Cons: Free and Plus are capped at one custom field, and even Enterprise is limited to 100 users per calendar.
Cons: Private-server hosting is unavailable, so it cannot meet a self-hosting requirement.

Alternatives

For a general calendar-app shortlist, see Calendar apps. Wellness businesses comparing more specialized scheduling products can also consider Yoga Studio Software and Personal Trainer Scheduling Software.

WellnessLiving is a paid option with a free plan and trial, and its Starter plan costs 62.00 USD per month billed annually for one staff member and class and appointment booking. Choose it when that booking setup is a closer fit than Teamup's shared-calendar model.
Zenamu has a free plan with 30 orders per month and one teacher account, plus an Expert plan with 500 orders per month. It is worth comparing for a studio starting with a free order-based plan.
fitDEGREE has no free plan, offers a free trial, and lists a Spot Booking add-on at 75.00 USD per month. Consider it when that specific add-on is relevant.
Arketa has no free plan and lists an Individual plan at 49.00 USD per month billed annually, with a 3% transaction fee plus Stripe fees and one team member login. Compare it when those scheduling and payment terms suit your needs.
Pike13 has no free plan and lists its Essential plan at 159.00 USD per month billed monthly, with a 12-month contract and unlimited staff seats. Consider it if unlimited staff seats matter more than Teamup's lower entry pricing.
Gymcatch lists a 10.00 GBP per month plan with unlimited bookings, customers and team members. Compare it when those booking limits are the priority.
Zen Planner lists studio and essentials plans at 99.00 USD and 198.00 USD per month, respectively. Consider it as another paid option.
zenyogi offers a free plan with unlimited classes and basic events, a hosted studio site and schedule embed, up to two published offerings, and an 8% platform fee. It may suit a studio that wants those publishing and payment features in a free tier.

Verdict

Choose Teamup if your team needs shared operational calendars, varied access permissions and event pages that can be shared without accounts. The free tier is a useful way to begin, while paid plans add capacity for teams with more calendars and richer event records. Look elsewhere if your workflow depends on two-way sync, private-server hosting or more than 100 users on a calendar.
