Overview

Cheqdin brings childcare registration, bookings, attendance, billing and parent communication into one service for nurseries, clubs and other care providers. It suits organisations coordinating both regular places and ad hoc care. Its breadth is useful, but the five-child Rise cap makes it a limited long-term option for most operating centres.

Key features

Customisable registration forms, enrolment pipeline management and unlimited waitlists cover the route from enquiry to a place. Providers can configure contracted and ad hoc bookings with forms and occupancy tools, a practical combination for services that handle both scheduled care and occasional bookings.

Rules-based recurring and ad hoc invoicing, funding calculations and payment reminders connect billing to those operational workflows. Live attendance and staff-to-child ratio tracking, alongside occupancy dashboards, help providers monitor who is present and how places are being used. These functions make Cheqdin more than a parent communications app, though teams seeking only messaging may not need its wider administrative scope.

Parents can use a secure portal and mobile app for messages, daily diaries, photo sharing and ad hoc bookings. Cheqdin lists PayPal, GoCardless and Stripe, plus Xero and Mailchimp, among its integrations. It says customer data is encrypted at rest and in transit with AES 256-bit encryption and hosted on AWS servers in London, UK; it cites UK and EU data protection laws including GDPR.

Pricing

Rise is free and supports up to five registered children. It includes email support and online help-centre access, but excludes personalised training and record archiving at the limit. That cap makes Rise suitable for a very small service assessing the fit, not a growing centre that needs room to add children.

Starter costs 68.00 USD per month for up to 75 students; Grow costs 99.00 USD per month for up to 150; Pro costs 149.00 USD per month for up to 275. These capacity steps make the student count the central pricing decision: Starter is the paid entry point, while Grow and Pro buy progressively more headroom. All three prices exclude taxes. Cheqdin advertises annual plans with a 20% saving and says subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. It also offers a free trial.

Platforms

Cheqdin runs on Android, iOS and the web, giving staff and families mobile and browser access. That mix supports parent access through the app or portal rather than requiring one device type.

Who it's for

Cheqdin identifies schools, out-of-school clubs, activity centres, day nurseries, holiday clubs, childminders, hotel kids clubs and sports academies as audiences. Its booking, attendance and ratio tools are especially relevant to providers managing changing attendance and capacity; its parent tools suit services that want families to receive updates and make ad hoc bookings through the same system.

The company says Cheqdin began in 2016 as a parent communication app for childcare centres. Its website, portal and mobile apps are powered by Databotix Limited, with Cheqdin as that company's trading name.

Pros and cons

Connected provider and parent workflows: registration, booking, billing, attendance and family communication sit within one product, which suits providers trying to coordinate these jobs together.
Handles mixed booking patterns: contracted and ad hoc bookings, invoicing and parent bookings accommodate services beyond fixed regular attendance.
Room to scale through paid tiers: the paid plans rise from 75 to 275 students, but the free tier stops at five and excludes training and archiving at its limit.
Costs rise with capacity: Starter, Grow and Pro have clear monthly prices and student caps, but taxes are additional and annual billing is required for the advertised 20% saving.

Alternatives

Compare childcare management software if you want to weigh Cheqdin against a broader set of tools.

AfterSchool HQ is another freemium option for Android, iOS and web, with transaction fees on activities processed through its free plan.
OWNA has a free plan covering curriculum planning, attendance sign-in/out, a parent app and compliance; consider it if those are your priority.
QikKids offers Playground plans organised by place-count bands and supports web, desktop and mobile platforms.
Sandbox Software is a paid alternative with a 0-24 children monthly plan at 47.00 USD per month, including unlimited users and devices and no contract.
Kangarootime has a free plan capped at one program, one school and five staff members.
Neztio offers a free Starter plan for up to 15 children and a Standard plan at 79.00 USD per month with unlimited children.
Uniqda is a paid alternative with a month-to-month Home plan for up to eight enrolled children.
EZChildTrack uses a paid monthly subscription priced by program size, with a quote required.

Verdict

Cheqdin is a strong fit for childcare providers that want bookings, attendance, billing and parent communication in one service, particularly when they manage both contracted and ad hoc care. Choose it for that operational breadth and its rising student-capacity tiers; look elsewhere if five children is too restrictive for a free starting point or if your needs are limited to parent messaging.
