In their own words
ChiefOnboarding
ChiefOnboarding is an open-source onboarding platform for remote-first organizations, accessed through Slack or a web portal. Teams can create reusable blueprints for roles and groups, combining tasks, resources, introductions, and rewards. Before a new hire starts, preboarding pages can share information, files, lists, and custom forms. Timelines schedule tasks and messages, automate reminders, and trigger steps when work is completed. Learning resources can be presented as wiki-style pages or as courses with questionnaires. Organizations can customize colors, logos, email layouts, and their own domain. The integration catalog includes Teamtailor, BambooHR, Azure Active Directory, Asana, Zendesk, Google, and Slack, among others. Its API can create new hires programmatically when enabled and authenticated with a token. ChiefOnboarding can be self-hosted, keeping customer data under the customer's control. The free plan is self-hosted with community support. The Support plan costs €249 a month, billed annually, and includes priority email support.
Dayforce Scheduling
Dayforce Scheduling helps organizations plan staffing coverage, manage labor budgets, and provide employees with schedule flexibility. It forecasts labor demand using historical data, recent trends, and seasonal predictions, then can generate schedules based on preferences, business demand, pay rates, and other factors. Centralized scheduling allows workers to be shared across locations. Employees can set availability and preferences, swap or offer shifts, and request time off, subject to configuration and manager approval where applicable. Dashboards include attendance, absenteeism, and unplanned overtime metrics. The product also aligns time worked by salaried project-based employees to projects for labor allocation against general ledgers. Its iOS app supports schedule and shift viewing, coworker messaging, and shift trade decisions; trades between locations are unavailable in the mobile app. Dayforce says its regional predictive scheduling rule can help manage fair workweek requirements. Platforms listed are Android, API, iOS, and web. There is no free plan, and pricing is available by request. Dayforce Scheduling is made by Dayforce, founded in 1992 and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
