In their own words
Cicini
Cicini is a web-based booking and scheduling platform for service businesses, combining appointments, staff calendars, payments, reminders and client management. Clients can book around the clock through a custom booking page and public link, while teams coordinate availability and shifts across multi-staff calendars. Google Calendar sync is in beta: new appointments can push to Google, and two-way busy-time blocking can hide unavailable slots. Email reminders are included on all plans; paid plans add plan-limited SMS reminders and Stripe checkout for full payments or service deposits. Card information remains with Stripe rather than Cicini’s servers. Client tools include typed-question intake forms and public e-sign links for legal documents and policies. Professional and Enterprise plans include API keys and outbound webhooks, though Professional quotas are limited and the public REST surface is still developing. Cicini says it encrypts data in transit and at rest and uses role-based access controls, but does not claim HIPAA, PHIPA or SOC 2 compliance. A free plan is available; paid plans start at $15/mo (annual), and a 30-day trial is offered.
Deputy
Deputy is workforce management software for building schedules, recording time and coordinating teams. Its scheduling tools can create and fill shifts around business requirements and staff availability, with options for auto-scheduling, availability collection, open shifts, shift swaps and time-off management. Clock-in apps, geofencing, biometric clocking and timesheet auto-approvals cover time and attendance. Deputy AI is included in every plan to assist with schedules, workforce questions and everyday tasks. The service runs on Android, iOS and the web. Plans are Lite at $5 per user per month, Core at $6.50 per user per month, and Pro at $9 per user per month, excluding applicable taxes. Monthly Lite, Core and Pro invoices have a $30 USD minimum spend. There is no free plan, but the advertised trial lasts up to 31 days and requires no credit card. Integrations include payroll, point-of-sale and HR categories, with ADP, BambooHR, QuickBooks, Xero and Zapier among the listed options. Deputy also provides API documentation. It states that it is ISO 27001 and UK Cyber Essentials certified and SOC 2 Type II compliant.
