In their own words
CommCare
CommCare is a digital platform for frontline work that supports data collection, service delivery and case management. Its no-code builder lets teams assemble apps using drag-and-drop forms, skip logic, case configuration, multilingual forms, referrals and reporting. The Android app operates fully offline and synchronizes when a connection returns; workflows can also run in browser-based web apps, and both formats can connect to two-way SMS. Integration options include exports, OData feeds, data-forwarding tools, third-party connectors and REST APIs, including connections to Power BI, Tableau, DHIS2, Salesforce and Azure. The API can read and write cases, forms and users and automate submissions and updates. CommCare is open source: the web platform uses a BSD license and the Android app an Apache 2.0 license. The free testing edition includes one project space and five mobile workers. Standard costs $100 a month billed annually; Pro is $500 a month billed annually; Advanced is $1,000 a month billed annually; Enterprise starts at $4,000 a month.
Typeform
Typeform is a web-based form builder and automation platform for surveys, quizzes, applications, polls, landing pages, and other ways to collect responses. Its no-code editor offers templates, AI-generated questions, conditional logic, and publishing by link, embed, or QR code. Typeform AI can create and revise questions, organize branching rules, improve writing, and translate forms. Workflow tools can qualify and route leads, notify teams, send follow-ups, create tasks, and start onboarding or feedback sequences. Insights Hub uses AI to surface response trends, outliers, sentiment, and themes. Forms can be embedded on websites and in emails, and the platform lists more than 300 app integrations. The Free plan is free and includes unlimited forms with 10 responses per month. Basic is $39 a month, or 28 USD/mo with annual billing, and includes 100 responses monthly for one user. On mobile, users can create AI forms, edit desktop-created forms, and publish them, but cannot add logic, change question settings or layouts, or create question groups. Typeform lists GDPR, SOC 2 Type II, ISO certifications, HIPAA, and encryption among its security measures.
