Overview

Hosts create a room and share its call-in number and PIN, while participants join by phone. The free service asks for no signup, personal information, or credit card, which makes it a straightforward choice for occasional calls or groups that want to avoid account creation. Callers pay their carrier’s applicable charges, so “free” describes the service, not necessarily the call.

Hosts can view participants and speakers, mute callers, and use moderator controls. Conference details can be shared by iMessage or SMS, email, third-party apps, or copy and paste. That covers practical invitations and basic call management, but does not make the service a fit for meetings that require a larger participant ceiling.

Key features

Room access: Call-in numbers are provided in the United States and Canada, and international dial-in is supported. Carrier charges apply, so participants should consider their own calling costs.
Free PINs: A free PIN expires after 30 days without use, and each call extends it by another 30 days. Regular groups can keep a room active simply by using it; an unused room may lapse.
Recording on Pro: Pro adds recording, playback, and sharing. Recordings are stored on the provider’s network for 30 days, a meaningful retention limit for teams that need to keep or revisit calls. Pro sharing includes iCloud Drive, Google Drive, and Dropbox.
Privacy and availability: Optional contacts access is used locally, and the maker says it cannot access users’ contacts. The terms also warn that outages may occur and do not guarantee service availability, making Conference NOW a weaker choice for calls where interruption is unacceptable.

Pricing

Free — free: Includes unlimited conferences and unlimited duration for up to 10 callers, with no signup or payment required. It is the sensible starting point for small groups that do not need recordings. The trade-offs are the 10-caller cap and no Pro features; free-version support is limited.

Pro — custom pricing: Supports up to 100 callers and adds recording, playback and sharing, multiple moderators, conferences backed up to an account, and no ads. It is the relevant tier for larger calls or groups that need recordings and account-backed conferences, but the price is not published. The Pro App Store listing offers a free trial once, without stating its duration.

Callers may still incur carrier charges on either plan. The service’s free offering should not be mistaken for toll-free calling.

Platforms

Conference NOW has Android and iOS apps. Conference details can be shared through messaging, email, and third-party apps, but the service itself is phone-based conferencing.

Who it's for

Choose Conference NOW for small phone calls where no-account setup and basic host controls matter more than a broad caller limit. It is less suitable for larger groups on Free, or for business-critical calls that cannot tolerate possible outages. The maker describes its backing carrier as serving residential and business customers since 2005, but that does not change the service’s availability caveat.

Pros and cons

Pro: Free callers need no signup, personal information, or credit card, reducing friction for occasional meetings.
Pro: Unlimited conference duration and conferences on Free avoid a stated usage quota beyond the 10-caller limit.
Pro: Pro combines a higher 100-caller maximum with recording and multiple moderators for groups that need more control.
Con: Free stops at 10 callers, so even a modestly larger group must consider Pro or another service.
Con: Carrier charges apply, which can make a no-fee service costly for callers depending on their plans.
Con: Pro pricing is custom, and its one-time trial has no stated duration, so costs are harder to assess before committing.
Con: Outages may occur and availability is not guaranteed; limited free support adds little reassurance for important calls.

Alternatives

FreeConference.com is worth considering when a free plan’s stated capacity matters: it allows up to 100 call participants, alongside up to five web participants and unlimited calls on local numbers. Select Conferencing Reservationless Toll-Free Audio is a better fit for calls of up to 500 participants with unlimited duration and 24/7 access, though it is paid and has custom pricing.

Vast Conference offers a per-minute, per-caller option at 2.00 USD per month with no monthly minimums and capacity for up to 500 participants, making it a possible fit when larger calls justify usage-based pricing. LoopUp Remote Meetings suits groups that can use domestic dial-out rather than dial-in numbers: its free plan supports up to 10 participants in the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Ireland, and Netherlands.

Phonesty offers a free plan with US and German dial-in numbers and unlimited participants under a fair-use policy, with dial-out charged separately. BroadData Domestic Audio Conferencing may suit buyers seeking paid domestic audio conferencing; its toll dial-in plan is billed at 4.9 cents per minute per participant for up to 125 participants. Conferoo is another free conferencing option. GoTo OpenVoice is a paid alternative with up to 500 participants and toll and toll-free numbers in more than 50 countries.

For a broader comparison, see Audio Conferencing Software.

Verdict

Conference NOW is a good match for small groups that want free, no-account phone conferencing with unlimited call duration and basic moderator controls. Its clearest advantage is how little setup the free service demands. Look elsewhere if you need more than 10 callers without moving to Pro, want a known Pro price, or need dependable availability for critical meetings.
