Overview

The software pairs a flexible appointment book with customer-facing tools and point-of-sale payments. Drag-and-drop scheduling and day, week, or employee views suit businesses coordinating work across staff, while repeat appointments, pet records, and staff scheduling support ongoing client relationships.

Online booking is available around the clock, but it collects appointment requests rather than confirming visits automatically. That approval step gives the business control over its calendar, though it also means customers do not receive an instant confirmed booking. Digital forms can be completed before the visit, and reports span appointments, client behavior, service performance, revenue, discounts, spending habits, and inventory.

Key features

Scheduling and client communication

Color-coded calendar views and drag-and-drop appointment changes make the scheduling tools useful for businesses managing a busy or shared calendar. Automated text and email reminders let clients confirm or reschedule, helping reduce the work of handling appointment changes manually. Message quotas vary by plan, so businesses with frequent reminders should weigh those caps against their appointment volume.

Booking, forms, and payments

The customizable booking site accepts requests 24/7, with the business approving each visit. Customizable online paperwork and consent forms can move administrative steps ahead of the appointment. The point of sale supports credit and debit cards, digital wallets, and offline payments, giving businesses several ways to take payment.

Integrations and data handling

Partners include Beresford gift cards, Glammatic websites, and QuickBooks. QuickBooks requires a separate QuickBooks Online subscription; the partner page says connection is available to US-based customers with Deluxe, Premier, or Platinum subscriptions. DaySmart's terms advise customers to enter sensitive personal information only in service areas designated for it.

Pricing

DaySmart Pet has no free plan. Its 14-day trial requires no credit card, but credit card processing is not enabled until the account becomes paying, and some add-ons require verification. Trial data is preserved if the account is activated and lost after the trial expires if it is not.

Basic: $29/month with payments or $39/month without payments. It allows 1 user, 500 text messages/month, and 1,000 email messages/month. This is the lowest-cost fit for a solo operator with modest messaging needs; it gives up the additional seats and message allowance of higher tiers.
Deluxe: $69/month with payments or $89/month without payments. It allows 3 users, 1,000 text messages/month, and 5,000 email messages/month, a better fit for a small team needing more room for customer communication.
Deluxe Growth: $149/month with payments or $169/month without payments. It retains the 3-user and 1,000-text limits but raises email to 10,000 messages/month, making its higher price most relevant to businesses with substantial email volume.
Premium: $199/month with payments or $219/month without payments. It allows 6 users, 2,500 text messages/month, and 10,000 email messages/month for larger teams or heavier text reminder use.
Premium Growth: custom pricing. It includes unlimited users, 5,000 text messages/month, and 20,000 email messages/month, for operations that exceed Premium's stated capacity.

Email, chat, and phone support, along with training and onboarding, are included across plans. The with-payments and without-payments prices differ at every priced tier, so businesses should compare the option that matches how they intend to take payments.

Platforms

DaySmart Pet supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. That range suits businesses that need to manage appointments across mobile devices and desktop platforms.

Who it's for

DaySmart Pet is a good fit for pet-care businesses that want scheduling, client paperwork, payment acceptance, and operational reporting under one roof, particularly those coordinating several employees or handling recurring visits. The Basic plan can suit a solo business with light messaging needs. Businesses seeking a free ongoing option, or a solo operator who needs more than one user, should compare alternatives before committing.

Pros and cons

Pros: Scheduling combines drag-and-drop changes, color-coded day, week, and employee views, and recurring appointments, useful for organizing repeat work across staff.
Pros: Booking requests, reminders, forms, and multiple payment types cover much of the client journey in one product.
Pros: Reports include revenue, service performance, spending habits, and inventory as well as appointment and client activity.
Cons: The cheapest plan is limited to 1 user and 500 text messages/month, which can constrain a growing team or a business that relies on frequent texts.
Cons: Online bookings require business approval, so customers cannot complete an automatically confirmed appointment through the booking site.
Cons: The trial does not retain data after expiry unless the account is activated, and card processing is not enabled during the trial.

Alternatives

Compare pet grooming scheduling software if you want to consider a broader set of tools for this category.

GroomWork is worth considering for a solo groomer seeking a free plan with 40 monthly appointments, or a paid Solo plan with unlimited appointments.
Seglo offers a free plan with one person and one location, plus online booking, pet records, rostering, and pay calculation and commission; choose it if those needs matter more than DaySmart's broader reporting and payment features.
Pawfinity is a paid alternative with a Royal Package at $100.00 USD per month billed annually, including unlimited calendars, appointments, employee logins, and clients.
Furbello starts with a Solo plan at $39.00 USD per month, with up to 3 active staff, 250 automated texts/month, and unlimited appointments, customers, and pets; consider it if those stated limits better match your operation.
CalMov has a free Lite plan for one person and up to two services, with optional upgrades billed monthly; its platform is web only.
Groomsoft offers a 30-day FREE Demo with basic features, payment processing, Google Calendar sync, online booking, and mobile-grooming maps; consider it if those capabilities are the priority.
ShakeYourTail is another freemium option, with a free plan showing 100 clients and one user/resource.
Cartoply offers a forever-free plan with a personal scheduling page, Google Calendar and Outlook sync, custom event types and durations, and email confirmation; consider it for personal scheduling rather than a full pet-care business system.

Verdict

Choose DaySmart Pet if your pet-care business needs a single system for scheduling, client administration, payment acceptance, and detailed operating reports, and you can work within its per-plan user and messaging caps. Look elsewhere if you need a free permanent plan, instant confirmation of online bookings, or trial data that remains available without activation.
