In their own words
DoKit
DoKit is a web-based document toolkit for processing PDFs and converting documents to and from PDF. Its tools merge, split, compress, protect, and unlock PDFs. Merge accepts PDF, JPEG, DOC, PPT, XLS, and TXT files, combines them into one PDF, and lets users set their order. Split can extract pages into separate files or divide a PDF into equal-sized chunks. The Eco tool converts documents to grayscale and smaller paper sizes for printing. DoKit runs online without requiring software installation. Free visitors and free registered users can use the service, alongside paid Premium accounts; the terms say functionality may vary by user type. Uploaded files are automatically deleted by default after 15 minutes for merge, split, and compress operations, 24 hours for PDF edits, and 60 minutes for other files. DoKit says tool pages use SSL and do not store files, while its terms reserve access to uploaded content for fraud prevention, technical issues, service improvement, or support. The provider is Fundacja Otwarte Państwo in Warsaw, Poland.
PDFtk
PDFtk is a PDF toolkit from PDF Labs, available as graphical and command-line editions for Linux, macOS, Windows, and self-hosted deployments. PDFtk Free provides a graphical interface for merging and splitting PDF documents and pages, and includes the PDFtk Server command-line tool. PDFtk Pro adds splitting, merging, rotation, watermarks, stamps, and security controls for pages and documents. PDFtk Server handles command-line processing such as filling forms with X/FDF data, adding or updating bookmarks and metadata, attaching or unpacking files, and attempting repairs on corrupted PDFs. It can decrypt an input when its password is supplied and encrypt output. Pro can set opening passwords or restrict printing, assembly, copying, and editing. Server is free under GPL Version 2; commercial redistribution generally needs a separate license. PDF Labs lists Free and Server at free, Pro at $3.99, paid once, and a redistribution license at $995 as a one-time purchase. Products may create temporary local troubleshooting logs.
