EdbMails IMAP Migration Tool vs Google Workspace

EdbMails IMAP Migration Tool moves email and folders between IMAP servers, and supports transfers from IMAP to Office 365, Exchange Server or PST, as well as PST to IMAP. The Windows software lists providers including Gmail, GoDaddy, Rackspace, Zoho, Zimbra, IceWarp, cPanel, Yahoo Mail and Outlook.com. Users can choose folders and subfolders and filter mail by date, sender, attachments and AND/OR conditions. The maker says it preserves metadata, headers, folder structure, formatting and language encoding. Multiple mailboxes can be loaded from CSV, and separate installations can run migrations in parallel. Outlook is not required for IMAP-to-IMAP migration or Exchange-to-Office 365 moves. The maker says data and credentials are not stored on its servers and lists OAuth 2.0, TLS, AES 256-bit encryption for locally stored incremental-migration metadata and MFA support. A free trial is available, limited to 30 items from each folder. One-time plans cost 200.00 USD for 100 mailboxes, 299.00 USD for 1000 mailboxes, or 499.00 USD for unlimited mailboxes.

Google Workspace brings email, meetings, chat, calendars, file storage, and productivity apps into a paid suite. Its apps include Gmail, Meet, Chat, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Vids, Forms, Sites, Gemini, Keep, Apps Script, and Tasks. Multiple people can edit documents simultaneously, follow changes as they appear, and communicate through comments and built-in chat. Drive stores updates automatically and supports sharing for viewing, downloading, and collaboration. Gemini availability varies by plan: Business Starter includes it in Gmail, while Standard includes it in Gmail, Docs, Meet, and more. Security options include 2-Step Verification, Single Sign-On, endpoint management, and archiving controls. Google also lists pre-integrated single sign-on for over 200 cloud apps and automated provisioning for those apps. Business Starter, Standard, and Plus have a 300-user maximum; Enterprise has no minimum or maximum. Workspace runs on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. There is no free plan, and a 14-day trial is available. Business plans start at $7/user/mo annually.
