In their own words
Eventzilla
Eventzilla provides event registration, attendee engagement, ticketing and check-in for in-person, hybrid and virtual events, as well as webinars. Organizers can build forms with conditional logic and configure ticket types, discounts, waitlists and approval workflows. The platform also lists attendee email, exhibitor tools and onsite check-in.
Event Hub is a branded attendee mobile app with agendas, networking, interactive sessions, notifications and navigation. Eventzilla connects to over 500 apps through Zapier, including Salesforce, Mailchimp and Google Sheets, and offers an API for custom integrations. Its listed payment gateways are PayPal, Stripe, Braintree, Authorize.net and eWay. It is positioned for conferences and conventions, online events, training and courses, and fundraisers. Free events can use a no-cost plan. Basic costs $1.50 a month, billed per registration, and includes unlimited events and free registration types plus one paid ticket or registration type. A separate plan for premium features on free events costs $49 a month.
Indico
Indico is a free, open-source tool for organizing events, archiving materials, and supporting collaboration. It provides workflows for seminars, meetings, workshops, and conferences, and can bring an institute’s events together. For conferences, organizers can handle registration and abstract submission, store papers and other materials, and provide participant badges. Events use hierarchical categories, protections for resources, and roles within events. The room-booking module supports delegated management, booking approvals, and audiovisual equipment management. Indico integrates with Zoom so participants can join video conferences with a single click; listed plugins also cover PayPal payments and Amazon S3 event-file storage. It can be customized through configuration and plugins, and its HTTP Export API exposes category contents, events, rooms, and bookings. Indico is installed as a self-hosted instance. The project began in 2002, and CERN adopted it for event management in 2004 and has financed its development since. The maker describes room booking as suited to companies, research institutes, and universities.
