In their own words
Everlance
Everlance tracks business mileage and expenses through apps and a web dashboard for individuals and businesses. Its GPS mileage logging can help record business-related trips for tax deductions, and users can photograph receipts and attach them to expense records. Mileage tools include route maps, automatic classification, favorite-place detection, custom purposes and tags, and one-swipe classification. Reports summarize mileage and expenses by week, month, year, or a custom period. Business users have a team dashboard for Account Owners, Admins, and Managers to oversee team mileage and expenses. Expense management supports more than 1,500 bank and credit-card institutions across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Bank connections use Plaid, but transaction sync currently covers only the last three months. Everlance offers a free plan, paid plans from $10.99/mo, and a 7-day trial. It runs on Android, iOS, and web. The Basic plan includes 30 automatically detected trips per month per user, unlimited manual tracking, reports, receipt uploads, and Excel and CSV exports.
Keeper
Keeper combines bookkeeping and tax filing, using AI and human accountants to identify potential tax savings and prepare returns. It scans linked financial transactions for possible deductions, which users can review, supplement with receipt photos, and organize with rules. Keeper offers federal and state filing, and says a tax professional reviews and signs every return. The 24/7 AI tax assistant provides tax help, while Premium includes one-on-one consultations with a tax professional. Standard costs $199 a year and includes 10 financial accounts; Premium costs $399 a year, and Business costs $1,199 a year. Bookkeeping Only costs $20 a month and tracks expenses but does not include filing. Standard includes federal and up to two state returns; Premium and Business cover three or more states. The 14-day trial does not permit exporting deductions or submitting a return for IRS filing. Keeper connects accounts through Plaid and says it does not have access to bank login information. It says it uses banking-grade encryption. Apps are available for Android, iOS, and web.
