In their own words

eXo Platform

eXo Platform is an open-source digital workplace for internal communication, collaboration, knowledge and content management, document sharing, social interaction and employee engagement. Organizations can use it for intranets, collaborative workspaces, project and team collaboration, knowledge bases and document management. It is available on the web, iOS and Android, with REST APIs and self-hosted options. Version 7.2 can be deployed in cloud, private cloud or on-premise environments. Optional, configurable AI features support search, writing, information organization and automation of low-value tasks. They follow user permissions and workspace boundaries, and users are expected to review and validate actions. Integrations include options for email, calendars, personal drives, directory services, identity providers, document systems and electronic signatures. Security features include space-based restrictions, fine-grained permissions, two-factor authentication, SSO, LDAP and document quarantine. eXo says its platform processes data in line with GDPR guidelines and offers privacy management features. Hubs has a 14-day trial, while the community version can be downloaded for deployment in a customer's environment. The listed paid price starts at $8 a month with annual billing and a minimum of 10 users; there is no free plan.

KenCube Social Intranet

KenCube Social Intranet combines intranet software with an employee app for internal communication, knowledge organization, and digital services. Its tools include news, appointments, chat, documents, people and company structure, forms, tickets, registrations, surveys, and services. The Android and iOS app gives staff access to news, knowledge, documents, forms, and team chat on smartphones and tablets. The standard app is included at no additional cost; a branded white-label app is an alternative. KenCube supports user synchronization and single sign-on through providers including Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace. Appointments can be exported in ICS format, while one-way or bidirectional Outlook or Google Workspace synchronization is available on request and subject to system requirements. DeepL and AI tools require a separate provider contract and API key. The maker says its applications run as separate instances in ISO 27001-certified European data centers, with daily backups under managed hosting. The monthly subscription includes personal support, software updates, and security monitoring. Pricing is available by request, and a free trial can also be requested.
