In their own words

FARSET

FARSET provides booking and management software for salons, barbers, and beauty businesses. Clients can book through a branded page at any time, and businesses can add a booking widget to a website. Staff calendars, service assignments, client profiles, and client history help organize day-to-day work. FARSET also lists gift cards, memberships, loyalty rewards, marketing tools, and a POS and shop. For payments, it connects to the business’s own Stripe account for deposits or full payments and says it charges no booking commission. Its widget can be embedded on WordPress, Squarespace, or Shopify sites. The dashboard is responsive for phone use without an app download, and FARSET also mentions an Android app. A 15-day free trial requires no credit card, and cancellation is available at any time. The Free plan is free and allows 20 confirmed bookings per month. Pro costs £15 a month, billed monthly, for unlimited bookings. FARSET Shop is an optional add-on listed at £5 a month.

Phorest

Phorest is management software for salons, spas and clinics, bringing scheduling, client records, payments, marketing and reporting together. Its appointment calendar gathers bookings from phone, website, social media and branded apps, and includes a waiting list. Cloud-based client records can hold notes, treatment history, service prices and durations. Marketing tools cover SMS and email campaigns, automated reminders, rebooking prompts and review requests; booking pages, group booking and payment collection are also listed. The integrations directory includes Shopify, Xero, QuickBooks, Aveda, Vish, mya, SalonScale, SalonCentric, Colourstart and Aesthetic Nurse Software. Phorest says its AWS infrastructure encrypts data in transit, in use and at rest, and that it is GDPR-compliant and HIPAA-certified. PhorestPay is powered by Stripe, and the company says it does not directly store payment information. Plans include tailored setup, data import and training. It runs on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web and API. Pricing is on request; there is no free plan or trial, though Phorest offers a product demo.
