In their own words
Favouritetable
Favouritetable is a restaurant management and dining system for online bookings, table planning, capacity, payments and marketing. Its booking diary, visual floor plan, waiting list, guest management and reporting tools help manage reservations and service. Guests can book through a restaurant website, Google listing or social profiles; reservations enter the live diary and availability updates in real time. The system also supports menu pre-orders, takeaway, collection, delivery and contactless order-and-pay at table. Marketing tools include CRM, customer segmentation, email and SMS campaigns, re-targeting and guest review management. Favouritetable says subscription plans have unlimited bookings without commission. The free plan allows up to 30 online bookings per month and requires Favouritetable to be the sole and exclusive booking provider and integrated with the website; other terms apply. FT LITE is £69 a month, excluding VAT, for one user. Other listed paid plans run from £99 to £199 per month, excluding VAT. The product works on web-enabled devices, with UK-based support by phone, email, chat, documentation and training.
OpenResto
OpenResto is a self-hosted booking system for independent restaurants, bars, cafes and similar businesses. Guests can choose a time, hold a table for five minutes and book without an account. Staff can manage multiple locations, floor sections and waitlists, or pause bookings. Restaurants can set the name, colour and icon guests see. The booking experience is available on the web and can also be published as branded iOS and Android apps. The site describes push reminders sent the day before and passes for Apple and Google Wallet; guests can also add bookings to Google, Apple or Outlook calendars. OpenResto runs on the restaurant’s server with Docker Compose and stores bookings in a local SQLite database. The maker describes it as MIT licensed and says it has no per-cover fees. A scoped API supports integrations, while optional outgoing email uses the restaurant’s SMTP setup. Prebuilt Linux amd64 and arm64 images are listed for deployment on a VPS, Raspberry Pi or NAS. The maker says guest data stays on the restaurant’s machine and bookings can be hard-deleted for GDPR requests.
