In their own words

Flarum

Flarum is free, open-source forum software for running discussions on websites and online communities. It provides group permissions, category access controls, moderation and flagging. Administrators can adjust settings, themes, CSS and extensions, and disable unneeded features. Members can write with lightweight Markdown or WYSIWYG editors. Notifications include in-browser alerts and email digests, while extensions can provide real-time notifications. A REST API lets external scripts interact with the forum and follows JSON:API practices. The extension manager discovers and installs add-ons, most of which are open source and free. Self-hosting requires Apache or Nginx, PHP 8.3 or later, a supported database and SSH access for some maintenance. Flarum is MIT-licensed and directs support questions to its community forum. Its documentation describes version 2.0 as a release candidate, not a final stable release. The project serves communities from small hobby groups to large enterprise forums.

Sugester

Sugester combines CRM, helpdesk, live chat, project management, knowledge base, forum, email, and VoIP features. Its CRM keeps customer profiles and interaction history, with recurring reminders, customer grouping, reports, and deal tracking. The helpdesk gathers email, phone calls, and other messages in a unified inbox where teams can assign tickets and use canned responses. Website chat can show visitors in real time, send push notifications, and collect offline messages. Teams can assign tasks, arrange them into projects and subprojects, and track completion time. The maker lists integrations including Shopify, WooCommerce, Gmail, Mailgun, Plivo, WordPress, eBay, GitHub, Dropbox, and Mailchimp, and links to API documentation. The cloud app runs in a browser without installation or setup; a self-hosted version is available by inquiry and requires at least 8 GB RAM, Ubuntu Server, nginx, and MySQL. The free plan is described as lasting indefinitely, and a 30-day trial requires no credit card. Paid plans start at $12 a month.
