Fleetio is a cloud-based fleet management platform for tracking vehicles, coordinating maintenance and managing fleet operations. It stores vehicle details, license and registration reminders, warranty and telematics information, documents and notes. Preventive-maintenance reminders can use mileage, hours or time intervals, while digital work orders track labor, parts and progress. Customizable inspections support offline use, photos, comments, alerts and automated workflows. Automations can create or update work orders, change asset status, notify approvers and add comments or email teammates. Fleetio connects with telematics, GPS, fuel cards, tire monitoring, tolls, citations and accounting systems including QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero, NetSuite and SAP. Its public REST API has more than 130 endpoints for resources such as vehicles, meter entries and fuel entries. Fleetio Go is available on iOS and Android, requiring iOS 16 or later and Android 10 or later. The 14-day trial requires no credit card and includes all features; continuing afterward requires payment information or invoicing. The Tools Add-on starts at an average of $0.50 per piece per month and is not sold separately.
Traccar
Traccar is GPS tracking software for monitoring devices through a self-hosted server or managed hosting. It shows device positions in real time on road maps or satellite imagery, alongside sensor readings and other tracker data. Alerts can flag geofence crossings, harsh driving, fuel drops, and maintenance events. Trip records, charts, summaries, and location history are available for review, with report export to Excel. Traccar works with trackers from manufacturers including Teltonika, Jimi IoT, Ruptela, Queclink, Suntech, and TopFlyTech across more than 200 protocols. Its server runs on Windows or Linux, on owned hardware or in the cloud. Android and iOS apps require a Traccar server; a separate client app can make a smartphone act as a tracker. The API supports service functions and live updates. The server is free and open source for private or commercial use. Managed plans are listed at $9.95 a month for a shared account and $49.95 a month for a dedicated server.
