In their own words
Flex
Flex brings rental inventory, sales, production operations, warehouse workflows, crew scheduling, billing, and payments into one platform. A signed quote reserves equipment for its date range and can lead to a warehouse pick list, barcode or RFID scans, and a truck manifest. Flex can generate invoices automatically and accept credit card or ACH payments. It includes quote building, rental contracts, delivery scheduling, and return tracking, but not online booking. The integration list includes QuickBooks, PayEngine, DocuSign, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pro Subrental Marketplace, CrewDriver, Google Calendar, Zapier, and a REST API; its HubSpot CRM integration is in open beta. Flex runs in supported browsers on Windows, Mac, and Linux, with Google Chrome recommended, and the Flex5 app is available for Apple and Android devices. The Flex plan costs $510 a month and includes unlimited users. There is no free plan, but a 30-day trial is available. Flex says it is suited to businesses with 500 or more assets, multiple jobs, or multi-user and multi-location operations.
HireHop
HireHop is cloud-based equipment rental ERP software for independent operators and large multi-depot enterprises. It brings inquiries, quotes, inventory, dispatch, and invoicing into one system, with tools for rental contracts, delivery scheduling, and return tracking. Its live availability grid shows stock across depots, including items under repair and late returns. Warehouse scanning supports barcode, QR, NFC, and RFID for preparation, dispatch, and returns. A mobile web driver app provides schedules and navigation, and supports site photos, notes, and customer sign-off signatures. Listed accounting integrations include Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage Business Cloud, Sage 50 Cloud, Exact, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, FreeAgent, and MYOB. Other connections include TeamTrack, CrewBrain, HubSpot, Google Maps, PATGuard Cloud, DataStrategy, and DistroDesign. Stripe invoice payment buttons accept credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. The REST API can read and write HireHop data using a generated token. The free plan is limited to 15 jobs and three projects per year, plus 25 MB of file storage. Professional is £46/month for the first user and £23/month per additional user.
