In their own words
FraudLabs Pro
FraudLabs Pro screens e-commerce orders for payment fraud, helping merchants assess risk and reduce fraud losses and chargebacks. It assigns transactions a fraud score and suggests whether to approve, review, or reject them. Its validation signals cover IP location and proxy status, billing and shipping addresses, accounts, email, disposable phones, credit cards, transactions, devices, and blacklists. The service uses transaction histories and merchants’ approval, rejection, and blacklisting actions to learn fraud patterns. Merchants can connect through ready-made modules for platforms including Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, BigCommerce, OpenCart, and WHMCS, or use the REST API. Micro is free at free and allows 500 queries per month for businesses with monthly sales under 25K USD. Mini costs $29.95 a month; larger plans increase query and rule limits. Subscriptions are monthly, with no yearly option listed. A free 14-day Medium trial is available. Micro includes the Android and iOS app and Standard Support; paid plans list Priority Support.
Tazama
Tazama is an open-source platform for monitoring transactions in real time for fraud and money-laundering typologies. It evaluates current transaction information together with historical participant behavior, applies configurable rules and thresholds, and can block high-risk payments or send alerts for investigation. Rule Studio gives analysts visual rule building, transaction replay, and review before deployment. Connection Studio and DEMS map and ingest message formats, including ISO 20022 payment messages. Investigators manage alerts through triage, assignment, investigation, filing, and closure in a case system that records decisions. BIAR combines detection and case results in a lakehouse with dashboards and calibration notebooks. Studio changes, case actions, triage decisions, and workflow transitions are audited. Docker Compose supports evaluation on one machine; production guides cover on-premises Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, and AKS. The software has no license charge, but hosting, implementation, and support require resources.
