Overview

Velocity brings fuel-card administration into one login, with invoice access, spending reports and card controls. The account’s main contact starts with full access and can request access for additional employees, a practical arrangement for shared administration that keeps control of user access with the account holder.

Login access is set up when the fuel card account is opened. That makes Velocity a natural companion to an existing Radius relationship, not a standalone portal a business can adopt independently.

Key features

Weekly HMRC-compliant invoices and access to invoices from the past 12 months give finance teams a useful window for checking charges and retrieving recent records. Reports break fuel spending down by driver, vehicle type, station or card, and can be viewed in graphs, tables or maps or downloaded as CSV files. That flexibility supports routine monitoring and further analysis, though the reporting is centered on fuel-card spending.

Users can cancel a lost card and order a replacement from their account. They can also freeze lost or stolen cards online or in the app and report the incident to help prevent unauthorised transactions. These are useful response tools when a card goes missing, rather than a broader set of spend-control capabilities established by the product’s stated functions.

Pairing Velocity with geo-plus vehicle tracking can add MPG data and alerts for potentially suspicious card transactions when the vehicle is absent. This may help identify an unusual transaction, but it requires the tracking service as well as Velocity. The separate Velocity Vehicle Check app supports daily smartphone checks, instant defect reports, digital records, and MOT, tax and service reminders; it suits operators who want those vehicle-check workflows alongside fuel administration.

Pricing

Radius Velocity is free to UK customers, with no free trial needed. The Radius Velocity plan is free and requires a Radius customer account. Its no-charge access covers a fuel-card portal rather than a standalone service: eligibility is the main limit, and no separate user-seat or reporting quota is stated in the plan.

There is no paid Velocity tier to compare. Businesses without a Radius account cannot use the free plan, while existing customers can add employee access at the account holder’s request. The price makes it an easy fit for current UK customers who need its administration tools, but it does not remove the account requirement.

Platforms

Velocity is available on web, Android and iOS. Card freezing is supported online and in the app, so account holders can respond through either a browser or mobile device. Vehicle checks are handled through the separate Velocity Vehicle Check app.

Who it's for

Velocity is a sensible choice for UK Radius fuel-card customers who need invoice retrieval, fuel-spend breakdowns and basic lost-card response in one place. It is particularly relevant to teams that want to delegate access to employees or use the separate vehicle-check app. Businesses seeking a portal independent of a Radius fuel-card account should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros

Free for eligible UK customers: there is no plan charge for the core fuel-card administration portal.
Useful invoice history: weekly HMRC-compliant invoices and 12 months of past invoices help with charge review and retrieval.
Flexible fuel reporting: users can group spending by driver, vehicle type, station or card, then view it in several formats or export CSV files.
Practical card response: users can freeze or cancel a missing card and order a replacement through their account.

Cons

Restricted to Radius customers: businesses without a Radius customer account are not eligible.
Some tracking insights require another service: MPG data and absent-vehicle transaction alerts depend on geo-plus vehicle tracking.
Vehicle checks use a separate app: daily checks, defect reports and reminders are not part of the main portal alone.

Alternatives

Fuel Management Software is the wider category to browse if you want to compare fuel-management options beyond a Radius customer portal.

For a paid option on Android, iOS and web, Eurowag Fuel Management has custom pricing; choose it instead if you are willing to seek a quote rather than use Velocity’s free, account-dependent offer.

Geotab is a paid option with a GO Plan covering advanced safety and AI scoring, HOS/ELD and tachograph compliance, predictive maintenance and fuel monitoring. It is a better fit to consider when those broader fleet-management functions matter more than Velocity’s narrower fuel-card administration.

Track Star Fleet Fuel Management is another paid fuel-management alternative.

Multi Service Fuel Card has a free plan, but its Fuel Card account can carry monthly program maintenance fees, per-transaction fuel fees and money fees. Consider it if you want to compare a free-plan alternative and can assess those potential charges against Velocity’s free access for Radius customers.

AtoB Fleet Fuel Cards charges $3.00 USD per month for AtoB Unlimited, plus a $35 account set-up fee and $3 per active card per month. Its prepaid card has no spending limit beyond loaded funds and permits fuel and non-fuel purchases; consider it if that prepaid-card model fits better than Velocity’s Radius-account requirement.

Fuelcard.ai offers paid Starter, Pro and Enterprise plans; consider it as another paid fuel-card option.

iFleet Pay is another paid alternative.

Coast is a paid option with Cards and expense management at $4.00 USD per month per active user, and a separate Bill Pay plan at $99.00 USD per month. Consider it if you want to compare paid card-and-expense or bill-pay plans rather than Velocity’s account-linked free portal.

Verdict

Radius Velocity is the right choice for UK businesses already using Radius fuel cards that want invoices, fuel-spend reporting and lost-card controls without an additional plan charge. Its main drawback is also decisive: access depends on a Radius customer account. If your business does not have one, or needs a broader fleet platform, compare alternatives instead.
