In their own words
Google Slides
Google Slides is a browser-based presentation tool for creating and delivering presentations without installation. Anyone with a Google Account can create slides, and the service runs on the web, Android, and iOS. Users can start with templates and add videos, animations, transitions, GIFs, and stickers. Gemini in Slides can summarize content, generate slides from prompts and Drive content, and create images. Collaborators can edit live, comment, use live pointers, and control who can view, comment on, or edit a presentation. Slides can also be accessed, created, and edited offline. It can import or directly edit Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and import Canva presentations online. Users can present through Google Meet, add speaker spotlight, or record presentations on some Workspace plans. Google offers a free plan; paid plans start at $7/user/mo, with a 14-day trial. Some capabilities require a Workspace plan or add-on. Google says Slides data is encrypted by default and describes additional security and privacy controls.
WPS Office
WPS Office is an office suite for working with documents and presentations across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and the web. It supports offline access and real-time collaboration, as well as PowerPoint import and export, presenter mode, and AI assistance. The free WPS Standard plan includes 1 GB of cloud storage, 47 file formats, and 46 languages. WPS Pro+ costs $69.99 a year and includes 20 GB of cloud storage; the pricing page also displays $5.83/month. The WPS Pro+ Sharing Plan costs $41.99 a year per user, includes 20 GB of storage per user, and lists multiple users and a three-day free trial. A free plan and free trial are available. WPS Office is made by WPS Office, headquartered in Singapore; the maker was founded in 1988. These plan details distinguish the free starting option from paid plans that add cloud storage and, for the Sharing Plan, support multiple users.
